Go see Benjamin Button if you can. It is a good solid movie with good storytelling. It is a journey, not unlike the one taken by our heroes (without the special FX).

Have yourself some popcorn ready 'cause it's 2 and 1/2 hours long. Saw it Saturday. Pitt is good, but Blanchette is better.

I thought they were both terrific !

As were some other cast members , notably Ben's 'Mom'...

Did you know that different actors played Ben as an 'adult' , and Brad Pitt's face was CGI-super-imposed onto them ?

It's kind of creepy when you think about it , but it worked flawlessly...

Did you see 'Australia' ?

ALL Browncoats definitely must ! It's awesome !

Agreed, I thought both actors, hell, the entire cast was solid, but that Cate Blanchette had a little something extra in her portrayal of the tortured love. The emotion that she showed over losing the love of her life to....time.

I too thought the actress who played his mom was really good and important to the story of his life. I also liked Tilda Swinton's performance as his second love. I didn't know that they used different actors for Pitt's character, but you're right, it was seamless. I could see why there's so much Oscar buzz about this film. Really interesting way to tell a story and show the passage of time.

I have Australia on my list. I'm going to try and see it soon.

Just got back from seeing Benjamin Button. I'd been waiting to see it since I'd heard of it. David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en) directing, written by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Munich) and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, what's not to like!!

(yes, that was trying to convince you to see the film...did it work?)

And it lived up to expectations. It was more epic than I thought it would be, and it's one of the few films I can think of that handles the passing of a lifetime well. Atonement recently tried to do it, and met some hardships, but Benjamin Button did it flawlessly. And yes, Pitt and Blanchett were brilliant.
Simply a beautiful film, with hardly a scratch on it.

SEE IT! SEE IT NOW!

Saw 'Valkyrie' today...

Some great films have hit the big screen late in '08...

This is definitely one of them...

I'm not a particular fan of Tom Cruise , but this is likely the most significant film on his resume' , and may remain so for a long time...He did a great job portraying Stauffenberg .

It's not boring history...It's a taut , suspenseful thriller .

Caught the movie Benjamin Button yesterday with my wife. I tell ya if there’s ever a movie that will bring you back in time it’s one like this. Pitt was great and Blanchette was also. Wonder if that’ll be what Mr. Pitt really looks like at 106? Anyhoo…….

One of the great lines, “ The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away.” I won’t say more.

This is a movie that sits well on the big screen. I think my wife is a fan of Brad Pitt more now than she was before. It did have that “Forest Gump” feel to it and I got the sense of “Titanic” a few times too. Fantastic movie….worth going see.

Valkyrie is another show I’d like to see. Probably on rented dvd though, my wife’s not a big Tom Cruise fan.

No, Benjamin Button was everything that Atonement tried to be and more.

Can't wait to see Valkyrie, great cast, great director and great writer, just like Benjamin Button!

Benjamin Buttons was the most disappointing film I've seen since Day The Earth Stood Still remake.
Another The Notebook copycat, not nearly as good as Atonement, and Atonement had the British touch. Buttons had a little of the gimmick angle like Forrest Gump, but the novelty of CGI didn't carry it past the freshness that Notebook had.

Buttons was the PG variant (like Gump) of the Notebook/Atonement genre - when reviewing a lifetime, with love including physical, Notebook and Atonement reveled in the nekkidness occurring during physical awakening, but Buttons somehow passed by that. Gump had a good excuse for that lapse, but Buttons was just prudish.

I was happier with Valkyrie, Bedtiem Stories, Spirit.
