A truly interesting list indeed.

My So-Called Life was one of the first programs that I actively sought out to participate in a letter writing campaign. Although this was a so-called teenage show, I found it truly entertaining mainly because of it's writing. Also Claire Danes reminded me of an ex-girlfriend, one of my first loves.

Arrested Deevlopment grew on me with each episode. My son told me about it. But I was not as devastated when it was yanked from the airwwaves as with FF.

Pushing Daisies was a fun and quirky show that I grew to love after only a few episodes. It's a shame the writer's strike happened when it did, I think it contributed to it's demise.

Wonderfalls - You could use almost the same description from Pushing Daisies for this show. Actually it was created and written by the same writer, Bryan Fuller. If you guys get a chance rent Wonderfalls from Netflix and see for yourself. It had the same fate as FF that it was cancelled before all the episodes were aired. Only 4 out of 13 were aired on, you guessed it - FOX.

Studio 60 was actually a well written, solidly acted show that never really got a chance to stretch it's legs. You will also recognize one of it's stars from Miranda (Sarah Paulson).

I think I gonna go rent Wonderfalls myself. I didn't get to see all the eps.

I'm gonna add a show here that I think should get some recognition -

Joan of Arcadia. Great show, well written with an interesting premise. A young teenage girl talks with God. It's not what you think. It was on for 2 seasons and abruptly cancelled. This show was on Fridays at 8 p.m. but had a loyal fan base and good ratings.

It is believed that the show's controversial premise was the reason it was cancelled. "Touched by an Angel" it was not.

From the European side of the pond, I'd like to nominate:

Of the 'oldies' I'd've liked more of 'Star Trek' and 'The Champions'.

Of the 'middlies' - Blake's 7, but with the writers and directors who understood what Terry Nation & the cast were after, so that voids most of the 4th season damagers. 'The Professionals' also had 4 seasons, but left viewers wanting more.

Of the 'newies' - hmm, I heartily enjoyed 'Eyes' (Tim Daly) which was unpretentious good fun; 'Brimstone' which was ditto; and... 'The Magnificent Seven' which had priceless chemistry, writing showing definite signs of catching up to the classy cast portrayals ('Serpents'), and boundless potential - yet US and European stations deliberately and endlessly mucking about with the broadcast times meant it bit the dust.

'Firefly' goes without saying.

I mostly agree with this list although I'd replace Studio 60 with Joan of Arcadia. I watched every episode of Studio 60 hoping it'd get better but, honestly, I wasn't too sad to see it go. The only episode that was really good was the christmas one.

I agree with John Doe, it was getting pretty interesting. Of course it also was on the same network and day as FireFly!!!

I didn't feel Studio 60 was given a chance either... but I thought the earlier Sorkin show (Sports Night) was even better and was cancelled too soon.

I would have ranked them differently, but the list is otherwise dead on!

Studio 60 was one of the best written shows EVER on television! The two parter "Nevada Day" were two of the finest hours of television since Sorkin's other two parter "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen" from the series "The West Wing". Aaron Sorkin is probably the only writer on TV who writes better than Joss Whedon!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.
