I'm enjoying this game a lot even though I agree with the criticisms I'm reading for it - too short, not enough weapons or scenarios, not enough bad guys, "replayability" is a bit overrated, etc.

Still, the concept works well for me and I haven't even done the online co-op. I love the look and the audio and the environments - hope they release additional maps.

Also, I can't help but wonder... the big hulking merc-type character is named Francis (kinda Jayne-ish) and the woman is named Zoey... just a coincidence?

Woman, you are completely off your nut.

I love the game! LOVE IT!! Yes it is quite short, but campaigns are already being announced for download, along with rumors of new weapons. So all is good! ^^ The co-op is lots of fun. I play quite a bit on the Xbox 360 with 3 other shiny Browncoats. Who doesn't like a good zombie slaughter?

Or, in the verses, who doesn't like to rip humans to shreds as a zombie?

Anyone got the game on the 360, let me know. Always looking for teammates and/or enemies for a verses match!

Ahh! That's great news, thx! I do have it on 360 but the online gaming experience... just haven't made that leap :(

Been curious to play it. It's nice to hear that it's solid (if short as a single player game. I had been under the impression you kinda needed to play online, and my connection sucks.

I'll try and rent it over the weekend.

I've been looking to getting it for a while now, but I was sceptical of just going online and playing with randoms, and sceptical of whether it was good or not, since you can't rent or get a demo of it, which I usually like to do first.
But if it is good, I may just have to go and get it and join you guys for some zombie-killing fun!

Mind you, I'm slightly busy with Guild Wars right now, so it might be soon or it might be a while.

Yes, unfortunately this game has mercilessly ruled my life as of late. Great adrenaline rush, and as long as you hook up with decent players, the online co-op is a blast. I was initially skeptical of playing a co-op based multiplayer with achievements (players who are looking to just get achievements don't necessarily mix well with players such as myself who are interested in the objectives), but it has worked out well so far.

I'm playing it on the PC, so just add DeadNotSleeping to your friends list in Steam if you are interested in dealing some serious damage to the Zombie Apocalypse!

btw, I know I was not the only one here thinking Reavers when playing this, right? :)

I downloaded this a few weeks ago and we played it nonstop at our LAN party over New Year's, it is an absolute riot of a game especially when its 4 friends duking it out against the zombies...i can't play it over steam with anyone since mine is not a legal copy but if someone really gets the itch, we can setup a LAN over Himachi.

I wish I could make mods. Looking around the L4D communities some modders have made new environments, and some are pretty sophisticated (at least they appear that way to my untrained eye).

It's not hard to imagine a map through Mr. Universe's compound being chased by Zombies/Reavers as one of 4 BDHs.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I play it. Gamer tag is Browncoat1 76th oddly enough.

Love the game and play it often. Played online with friends a couple of times and had some funny moments. Definitely great for co-op play.

Cool, here goes...My wife and I have played the xbox offline co-op through all of the campaigns several times - obviously we love it (I can see why online co-op has to be a lot of fun too), we're just hoping for more levels, weapons, bosses, story... more everything. Any inside scoop on if any of those are coming to the xbox anytime soon? Yeah, I know the game is pretty new!

Yeah, I am!

I "beat" the game last weekend on expert with some friends. And I say "beat" because although the game is designed to be re-playable, it really is very self-contained. You can "beat" it by completing all the levels. After that, replaying them becomes a novelty. It's a great game, but without more weapons or levels.. I don't know how long i'll bother booting it up.

left4dead is my favourite game of 2008 ,it really must be played online to experience it properly ,as every time you play it is a completely different experience depending on who you are online with ,it is even better than mgs 4 online which from me is very high praise indeed ,I got the game on pc ,my tag is darthmiike ,peace :)
