Hu FLT well it appears to be getting better. Here's hoping. 'cause if I have to wear these glasses one more day you'll be seeing a news report about a crazed woman with a shotgun attacking eye care centers.

Hi all! Yes, I know I haven't posted since August. But... well, as ever, been busy, you know, craziness.

First off... HUZZAH, MSA, you and NV... tis glorious. Congratulations (presumably extremely belatedly) to you both! :)

Yeah... I sort of dropped off the face of the planet last quarter- barely kept in touch with people at school much less anywhere else. There was a good reason for that. Long, long story, but like most good stories it involves a woman, who I love(d), and... well that's all over now, and before you get too happy, there were many many problems with that relationship. But for once a lack of emotion wasn't one of them. And hey, I learned a good many useful things. (some having to do with anatomy, and among other things, to run at the first utterance of the words "open relationship") But there was that. And amazingly I got out of that quarter without any impact on my grades, still sitting on a rather high GPA, and emotionally speaking i'm fine now. And I'm looking for internships again for spring and summer, and applying for film school, and avoiding doing homework, and i've learned to play DnD, and my writing is sort of coming along except not right now because i'm homework-swamped... but yeah. Things is pretty good.

So there's me, on a not very raggedy edge. And Dollhouse premieres in a week! woot! Too bad I didn't get a chance to intern with fox in the fall, too bad, i'll just do it next year when Dollhouse gets renewed. :-P

I know I do this periodically where I return, mumble about my life, and then disappear into the void, but I'll try to work on it this time. tis good to read you all again, anyhoo. Hope things progress well. :)

I'm alright, a bit overloaded on the essay-writing-midterms front, but it shall pass. And then I will just be very behind in my readings. Yay.

Just updated my resume. Well, I revamped it to look all purdy. I have harnessed the power of italics. Though it hasn't actually changed since last summer, since I interview six times for internships last fall and got exactly none. But such is life. But I did set my sights sorta high. (Fox, MTV, Sony TV, Imagine, Bruckheimer, and a literary agency) The funny part about that story is that the woman I interviewed with at Sony was a big firefly fan, and we spent a good ten minutes being as nerdy as one can be in a professional setting. Good times.

And now... Dollhouse on friday. What say you all on the subject of Dollhouse? Too corporate action-y? Or can it be glorious? I'm not enthused about the early episodes being stand alone, but then, so were the early Buffy episodes. Audience comes before storylines, I suppose.

hehe I've got the spider phobia. I know where it comes from too. I watched arachnophobia when I was like 9. Stupid scary spider movie. I still freak out going to turn off lamps. I hated taking showers for a long time after seeing that movie too. Why'd they have to have these tiny little spiders that kill people with one bite? That's friggin scary!

It's funny cause I half like having a cat around that is a crazy bug killer. The other half of the time I'm like "no Kaylee! I'll kill it! You stay back so you don't get bitten."

See if spiders had any evolutionary sense they'd evolve to look like tiny bunnies or ittle bitty big eyed cats... no one would want to squish them then..it's the repellant multi legged, fanged, many eyed freak show that makes us smack them
Well that and the fact that they have wages a persistent campaign to hide in my clothes, bed, etc and then leap out and bite me

Ok, new topic:

Sleep. Share why you aren't getting enough.

I have this annoying tendency to get back to my room late after doing clubs or whatnot, then watch news, and THEN start my homework. It's a problem. I should work on it.

[edit] I'll level. What I actually wanted to say is that I honestly can't remember the last time I got anything close to eight hours of sleep in the last few weeks. And it scares me that I can operate like this. Not that I want to.

I needs my sleep. I hate being sleepy all the time. I really do make an effort to get 8 hours a night. I rarely ever hit that mark every day in a week but 4 or so days a week I tend to get 8 hours. The really strange thing with me is that it really depends on what time I get up. If I could go to sleep at 5pm and have to wake up at 5am then I'd be sleepy all day. If I got to sleep at 4am and get up at 10am I feel fine. Something about getting up late really makes my brain happy.

I'm probably in the minority of people who get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. My health gets extra wacky if I don't get at least 8. Somedays it's as much as 12 hours, but most days it's 9 or 10. The more I sleep the better I feel, and since my work schedule, house work, etc, are all gated by how well I feel, sleeping extra hours actually lets me get more done in a day than less.

The extra sleep is nice, but I do hate the reason behind it. I would trade the extra hours if I could get rid of this damn pain. :P
