NASA is allowing the public to choose the name of ISS Node 3. Serenity is currently winning. Go vote!

I am NOT convinced that Serenity is leading the poll, despite the 80%+ share (for now) amoungst the four button names (non write-ins). It would not surprise me if all of the top ten write-ins have more votes than Serenity, maybe even Enterprise and some others that have fallen off the top ten list as some of the silly names gain momentum.

The number of votes has gone up very rapidly, but Serenity has only lost ground and the top ten alternate names have been changing often. That tells me that many of the write-ins have many more votes than Serenity. The fact that Serenity has been falling against the other three vote button names makes me think us Browncoats are being overconfident and/or lazy.

Fortunely NASA does not intend to just accept the name with the highest votes, and many of the top ten alternates are just plain stupid.

Correct and also incorrect. Only Colbert is ahead. Colbert is an ass, a pompous self righteous ass, or so I hear second hand, he refused to sign autographs for kids, and his ego act is no act, he really wants everything on earth and in space named after him. Sometimes he's funny, but he's also phony. I have no respect for someone so in love with himself [/rant]

That said, you are correct, Colbert is in first place. The geeks at Nasa rigged it for Serenity by making it an official option, nonetheless, Serenity is really in second place, taking in about 1/2 the voted of Colbert, who is beating Xenu 2:1 for 3rd.

Colbert 50%
Serenity 25%
Xenu 13%

Everyone else is holding around 1%

You can vote once per day. Just revote. There's no chance Serenity will lose from the chosen, so to make it win for sure, we should start a massive write in campaign. Everyone write in Serenity every day and see how long it takes to show up on the stats.
