HUGS Em... hey forgot productivity today do something mindless yet nifty like cleaning the room and reorganizing the desk or change up the room. That way you do get something done, but it's not thinking intensive. Cleaned up organized desk always cheers me up:)

HUGS Gee...aww thanks, but mostly it's just experience. I spent 9 years working in one of the highest stress/highest burnout jobs available so I got good at balance... either that or go the way of 75% of the other people with my job who quit within 8 months.

You've managed to get me curious, seeing as some of the Dr Who novels I've read/bought are quite good (mind you, they're all 7th/8th Dr stuff). As for fanfic, at least the bad stuff is still only fanfic (usually Mary Sue stuff), as opposed to the CanonSue stuff written by certain authours (for example, the Anita Blake stuff from about book 5 onwards).

And if you haven't already, read The Very Secret Diaries (now in two flavours:
LOTR - http://cassieclaire.livejournal.com/
and Dr Who/Torchwood - http://jovialien.livejournal.com/61667.html )

As for my work, I work many jobs, mostly to try and earn as much money in as short an amount of time as possible. Although it's also because most of them are only one or two shifts a week, and my main job is officially listed as a minimum of 10 hours per week (usually ends up being 12-15hrs, over three nights, which change from week to week).

Speaking of work, I'm not working again until next Wednesday. Yay me!

Thanks for the tips Nico, I may take some time to myself to do some reading tomorrow. The novels I was refering to are the 10th Doctor ones (that in my opinion are rather juvenile in tone). I only became a massive Who fan when Delicious David came along. That man is sex on legs! I got to see him earlier this year in the flesh acting as Hamlet alongside Patrick Stewart as his Dad and Uncle. I nearly expired with excitement!

As to jobs, I'm so very jealose that you have time off now, but it sounds like you've earned it with hard physical labour! It seems an interesting mix of things you do. What do you descibe yourself as when nosey people ask your career?

Gee, sorry to hear that you too are having a bad day of mental sludge. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's something in our area's water supply that dissolves brains (it would certainly explain a lot about my students!)

well the other half came home and told me off for moping, which cheared me up!

Been sat watching the wire, which they're showing over here at last and loving it.

I will confess that I still don't get the Hugh Laurie thing HK, sort of with House but somehow I always see him as George in BlackAdder, on the other hand Mr Tennant, particularly when speaking with his proper accent, now that I'd go with if I was that way inclined...

But yes naked in theatre is much more disconcerting

Thats like when I saw Knocked Up, I was only just 15 (the viewing age) there was a huge cinema screen, and I was sat inbetween my brother and one of his best friends .. talkk about AWKWARD! Lol.

Yeah, in the theatre it was totally unexpected. I mean, it was Macbeth! Plus, theatre-in-the-round, so he did a little twirl too :|

well in some of the plays it's perfectly appropriate like Titus Andronicus.. can't think how you'd do the rape scene without some nudity... or Romeo and Juliet since there's a bedroom scene, but typically not expected

Emma: Oh yeah, thats how it started ... xD

FLT: You no-know David Tennant?! :O One of his co-stars (Billie Piper to be exact) gave him the nickname of David Ten-Inch ^^

MsA: It was a REALLY good adaptation .. like, possibly the best Shakespeare adaptation I've EVER seen (&& I've seen A LOT of Shakespeare!) The witches we're played by young girls, they were supposed to be about 10, 16 and 19, and within the first 5 minutes one of them was raped (thankfully the oldest one) to explain how they became so tortured. It involved them dancing to modern music (So What? by P!nk was one) and in the Dagger Scene, one of them was holding the dagger which Macbeth was imagining right in front of him, and taking little steps to the side when he tried to grab it! There was one really clever thing too: the 19 year old witch didn't talk .. like she was too traumatised by what had happened, so when it was her lines, one of the others would move her mouth like a dummy, and say her lines for her! I don't know where people get the inspiration (or the imagination) for these things, but I'm glad they do.

Sounds like a great adaptation... I was lucky enough to perform at the Shakespeare festival in my state because they wanted a young actress ( I was 17 ) to play Emelia in Othello...reasoning that Iago's control over her makes more sense if she's very young and inexperienced....

Oh, it's worth checking out that miniseries. Seriously excellent drama! Funny and sexy!

Hey, I'd not checked out the David Tennant website! It's excellent! Next time I have 5 minutes to myself I'll have tonnes of fun on there, thanks!

Talking of 'The Scottish Play', I saw a FANTASTIC production in 2007 with Patrick Stewart as MacBeth, set in WW2 where the weird sisters were very creepy nurses, and the suppression of all MacBeth's enemies was parallelled to the claustrophibic atmosphere of Stalinist Russia.

It was TRULEY excellent, got 3 standing ovations and, for me, will be an example of the pinacle of artistic performance! Picard ROCKS at Shakespeare!

Wow ... lot to catch up on! Ok, here goes:

FLT: You didn't watch all of Goblet of Fire? So, you started, but didn't finish!?! :O

Rose: I prefer adaptations on a general basis. Like, the ones where they still use the proper language, just change set/design/clothing etc, I only hate the ones where they change the text.

MsA: You were in Shakespeare?? Wow .. fun times!

Zero: We wish there was more than one Tennant ..

Avery: Can you get me a clone too, by any chance? Not necessarily DT, I'd take Gareth David Lloyd from Torchwood, please!

Emma: I've heard about that version! It was supposed to be excellent .. I think my aunty saw it, actually.

&& to everyone, take Emma's advice .. watch the BBC version of Casanova .. it was so funny!

"Gentleman, I'm sure we can sort this out amicably. Look at it this way: if you could do what I could do, then you would do it too. But you can't. I can, and I have, and I'll do it again. ive seen bits and pieces, mostly from the middle-ish. bout it.

I baaaaaaaaaarely made it through the fourth book (if i remember correctly. i remember the ending, but i dont remember if i heard it from a book on tape, or if i read it, or if someone else told it to me...i think i heard it on tape), got about fifty pages into the fifth and was like "holy shit, this is just too agonizing to keep reading for some reason" and had to put it down (my friend keeps arguing that its because sirius dies in the fifth, but i didnt find THAT out until *A.F.T.E.R* i tried reading it first).

LOLZ!! Brig that quote is awesome. i might have to steal it....
