Props, hails, kudos, back-pats, and other forms of appreciation to Randall Munroe.

He has, once again, appealed to the Browncoat in all of us ('coz let's face it, folks, there's a little bit of Browncoat in EVERYTHING that lives and breathes) with the newest dose of virtual hilarity that is XKCD. I can't link directly to the strip 'coz it's a PNG and won't show up here, but here's a page link: http://xkcd.com/577/

You will notice the 'To be continued....' in the last panel. I wonder if this is something we (XKCD addicts and non-addicts alike) ought to be keeping an eye on just for shits and giggles - the latter especial.

Is it odd that for EVERYTHING I love to the point of obsession I can find many a browncoat who loves it too?! I've been an xkcd fan for years and squeal with joy when he inserts Firefly references (there ahve been several!).

Seriously, sometimes is seems slightly incestuous how much my interests intermingle!

Continued, indeed. I feel a 'Captain Hammerpants' type of storyline coming up. (Also, Mr. Munroe has quite artfully rendered that inimitable mop atop Nathan Fillion's head....)

I may have to read other installments. It seems like a level of geek I can appreciate. This Firefly miniseries tribute has been great, including the hair. :)

Oh, definitely worth checking out more. Xkcd goes from being wonderfully surreal to being befuddlingly high brow. I only understand about 4 out of 5 but I do love his sense of humour and have occasionally learned something about physics/ engineering/ computing/ maths etc.

Plus there's often great geek references!

This was his last passing reference to Firefly, before he outed himself as a complete Browncoat!

P.S. You can't be a true xkcd fan unless you are a mouse over text reader!

I got suspicious when the plans for the next summer blockbuster went along the lines of "And Summer Glau/River kills everybody!" That one was quite a hefty lead weight on some pretty shiny bait.

Xkcd's section using T.Rex and robots is pretty cool too.

By the way I believe it is possible to make pngs show up on FFF.net with a little trick. We'll see - if this works:

Edit: yup, it works. The trick is to add "?.jpg" after the ".png".

Been an XKCD fan for ages. This week has been amazing. And every now and again he does something that makes me go, "Awwww... :(" Like the end of Pt. 5 T_T

But now that I know what Firefly is I wanna go back and read all of them and try to find the references >>

Bravo. Brav- to the -o. BRAV-FREAKING-O. I don't know if I laughed harder at 'BWAH' or 'CANCELED BY FOX.' That was incredible.

But I still think all this River-kicks-ass fuss (from here and other sources) is really starting to get old.

Bwah (n.,v.):a manly and impulsive noise made when mock-aiming weapons, or being sideswiped by thugs, or taken by equally manly and impulsive surprise. Sometimes heard from petty thieves, but paradoxically not while thieving.

So did ya miss it?

Have no fear. It's being revisited on the IMDb Hit List.

Whoever that Browncoat webmaster is, we should get him and Munroe to lead the revolution against FOX when we've had our fill of their fei-hua.

I love that Browncoat webmaster! Seems like a fairly influential yet behind the scenes position. Firefly (and related actors) keeps appearing over there in various ways, whether in poll choices, hit list articles, and quotations. I wonder if they're a new addition to the staff or if I just never paid attention before, since I didn't know about Firefly through years of visiting IMDb?
