Mini bao!!

kissies!!

I just discovered Legend Of The Seeker on Hulu. It's rated PG. So far so good! (Based on the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind)

I'm not sure if I've ever read any of the books, but the costumes are luvverly.

...also, the young guy playing Richard Cypher (male lead) bears an uncanny resemblance to Nathan Fillion with just a dash of Orlando Bloom for extra pretty! I think it's the nose and the eyes, but I thought I was watching cap'n tightpants from about fifteen years ago. No joke.

He is shirtless at least twice. Hubba hubba.

Ripped, too. His definition is intimidating. I'm wondering if it's a CG effect.

I really enjoy the rest of the visual stimulation on the screen, before anybody accuses me of drooling. Sets, props, costumes, and the CG work are outstanding. (Mountains like that are not easy to come by, and I think some of them have definitely been digitally altered. I haven't sat throught the credits yet, but I think I saw a reference to a crew in Australia or NZ...)

It is an old story, but does not feel like the thousandth retelling, and has minimal hit you over the head cliches. I'm not saying there's no archetypes, or that there isn't a lesson in every ep, but it's well done enough that I don't mind sitting through it and I don't always notice them making a point.

Afternoon all,

so I'm meant to be recovering from an endoscopy right now but for some reason, it is impossible for two doctors to talk to each other directly so they have have to fuck about, make me wait a month for a supposed endoscopy appointment that turns into a very sorry, I can't help you appointment, I'll suggest to your gp that he refers you to a gastroenterologist but it will be quicker if you go see your gp and get him to refer you but I will write a letter. WTF! WTF! This is the same arsehat who ignored the letter from my doctor for 4/5 weeks and only gave me an appointment after the practice manager nailed him on the phone and asked what was going on and on that subject, how in this day and age, do we have a medical system dependent on fucking snail mail, how hard would it have been for two doctors to swap a couple of email and sort this out weeks ago? So I now have to wait til Monday before I can see my GP so I can get referred again, which will take a month or so at best, which'll probably mean it will be five months since my doc finally recognised that none of his drugs work to actually see somebody who might be able to fucking help. Gorram it!

I apologise for that, you've all probably got proper problems, I'll be sulking in the corner with a virtual beer.

Getting ready for the ride in to work, here. At 7:30 I get to sit in a car for an hour and a half (not driving!), then sit through a meeting, then eat the food they are providing (though it's BYOB.. we don't get it either, pay for food then skimp on about five buck's worth of soda), then more meeting, then more car, then back to work by 2pm. Those who would normally be scheduled to work on a Friday will remain at the clinic and finish the day, those who would not (me!) get to go the hell home and try to salvage what remains of the day.

Do I sound like I'm getting a little resentful of these Friday meetings they keep scheduling that they really could just send out an email with the power point and leave us alone?

Ack!

PR, some semesters the best you can hope for is to feel like you lived through it. Other times you'll get that sense of a job well done. Usually a good grades sheet will help a little. At least it's over and you don't ever have to take those classes again.

I can't decide whether to bother with it this year. The first time I watched the whole thing was last year, and thats only coz I was babysitting and they only have the 5 terrestrial channels - nothing else is on on Eurovision night! I just don't think it'll be the same without Terry Wogan getting gradually drunker and slurring more words throughout the night ...

I got a 3.5 average this semester. Which is actually the worst I've ever done. I'm not sure if it's affected my dean's list standing or not.
Yay indeed that I won't have to take the classes again. The question is, of course, whether I can manage/stomach using what I've learned in those classes in a career that will be a bit more than a semester long.

It's a singing competition held each year where the participating countries from europe put forward an act; I think they have to be unsigned bands, and being terrible seems to be a prerequisite too. The countries all vote on who they think is best and in the past it lead to some tactical voting and I understand that half the entertainment was seeing who gave who the crappy scores and what their retaliation would be. Apparently there's some new system in place this year to prevent that.

I don't watch it though, so someone might come in and correct all that.

They don't have to be unsigned apparently (I mean, ABBA did it one year) but no British artist is willing to ruin their career anymore. I watched the end of it, and Graham Norton didn't seem too bad. Plus, we did pretty well. I can't remember the exact score, but its the second highest we ever got, and the only time we got any higher was the last time we won. I still don't like our song tho ...

Got it in one. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote and played it .. but it seemed too serious for Eurovision. Cheesy pop songs should reign supreme there!

For any of those who are interested, this was it:

Not a clip of the actual night, coz I actually couldn't find one of this song then. We came 5th tho - best the UK has done for quite a while.

Andrew Lloyd Webber..

The guy in charge of the lyrics for Phantom of the Opera's run at the Bushnell this month (Phantom only comes out at the bushnell once in a blue moon, so i had to go), murdered Andrew Lloyd Webber's perfect lyrics for ones that more closely resembled the lyrics and style in the movies, and changed words that didn't need to be changed.

*has seen the production as originally written, and has the original cast recording, so guess who was a little disappointed when she saw this guy more closely styled it to hollywood's idea*

Oh No! People should *not* be allowed to change musical lyrics! When I did Les Mis a few years ago, they changed the entire sailor's song (the one with the prostitutes) just because I went to a Catholic High School and the lyrics were deemed 'inappropriate' .. if the lyrics are inappropriate, why the hell did you choose that musical!? GAH! It was awesome in the end tho .. But I had more fun when we did Jesus Christ Superstar. Just coz I was older then, and my friends made it that much more awesome. && of course, Andrew Lloyd Webber's music is more upbeat && fun to dance to. :P

I was mean to my best friend tho .. she was playing Mary Magdalene and was SO nervous it was untrue, so I told her to pick a random one syllable word and she chose 'bang'. I then proceeded to change one word per line of "I Don't Know How To Love Him" to the word she chose.

She nearly burst out laughing in the middle of her solo. I laughed, a lot .. xD

Not exactly a comedy as its about the days leading up to Christ's death, but it does have some funny moments. For example, the campest song imaginable written for the role of King Herod. I will *never* forget seeing my friend do that! The music is all really lighthearted tho.

&& no, she could *not* have picked a better word. It helped to calm her down tho, she just couldn't look at me whilst she was singing, as I was mouthing the words "I don't know how to bang him / What to do, how to bang him / I've been banged, yes really banged / In these past few days, when I've banged myself / I've banged like someone else ..." I'd go on, but you get the idea :P
