Seriously! This is almost a month since Angel went of the air and WB stopped airing reruns. I've watched the Firefly DVD set again and again, and i'm going into conversion mode to get people hooked on the show...

Nothing for it but to write fanfic, i guess :)

What's a browncoat to do? How do you cope?

I totally understand. I think the only thing to do is get more people hooked on any of the shows. I'm still working on makeing more Browncoats. That's all one can do!

I know what you mean....we have 2 stations that we can get (not very well but anything is better than nothing)that shows Buffy and Angel reruns on the weekends so we get our fix by watching the Firefly DVD's again and again. Our whole family has been converted and let me say that is something rare. My husband and I tried to get our kids to watch when it was on but they weren't interested. All that has changed since I bought the DVD for my husband's Christmas present (and he was a very very happy hubby) my son and daughter now see how great a series it was, my son says Firefly has spoiled him for any other sf series.

Yeah, Vince. I can relate, too. I am coping fairly well right now because it is the summer and I am used to being Joss-less for a few months every year. Once fall rolls around, though, I think I am gonna be in a bad way. When the time comes and I can't stand it anymore, I am going to get out my Buffy/Angel/Firefly dvd's and watch them all in order from the beginning. I am really hoping that will tide me over until the BDM comes out. It will not be the same as getting NEW Joss material every week, but I hope it will help.

I saved the unaired episodes on disk 4 from Firefly for my birthday this month and after that I too will have withdrawl problems.

Let me be the first to say: wow.

Once I started watching them, I couldn't save them a week. :)

We are not so badly off in the UK, Angel only finished this week and Sky has just started rerunning Buffy every week night.

I had to wait. School. I wanted to watch them all in one day!

When I go into withdrawl, I research as much as possible about that show. Here, I do the RP, and it's like having the show.

Then I find other things to research, while still doing this. Maybe a show that's still on the air. Current;y, it's Thunderbirds.

Yeah, I know. I'm crazy. And odd.

alright, keep calm, start breathing. there is hope. it's not Joss but if you are looking for good writing and in-depth characters then there are some substitutes. it's kind of like a nicotine patch.

SHOWS: try the DVD set of the first (and second if you like it) season of the HBO show OZ. written by Tom Fontana of St. Elsewhere and Homicide. amazing show, but really gritty and sometimes hard to break away (did eight hour-long episodes in one shot once)

BOOKS: Neil Gaiman has a series of comics out called The Sandman. not as character driven as Joss's work, but great concept and beautiful art. Gaiman also did a book called American Gods that will blow your mind once a chapter. seriously, the way Joss made everyone re-think vampires, Neil Gaiman does with American culture (as in history)

MOVIES: Princess Mononoke (anime), Spirited Away (anime), Fight Club, Dark City, Amilie

Hope this helps

I wonder if, after the movie, (and I hope more than two and less than 4 ) Joss will work on something else.... It will be interesting to see what direction he goes in.

Read the first issue - not bad, and not too hard to follow despite the fact I know little or nothing about X-Men continuity (last time I read regularly was when I was suckered into shelling out on the alternate universe stories, and before that was back when Spidey teamed up with them to take down Juggernaut, Rogue absorbed his powers and went crazy... guess that stuck in the memory).

My only criticism is the last few pages are hard to follow (they are written as if cutting between three stories, which doesn't really work in comics), but some of the lines are laugh out loud funny - Kitty Pride's "sorry I'm late, I was remembering to put on all of my clothes" to Emma Frost.
