First of all, that's just an insult to the cat; not even a cat costume could make those things cuter/more bearable >.<

And why not? People say cats are edible, why can't little yappy dogs be eaten? Only thing they're really good for...

Um...no. I never wanted red hair. I don't think it works well on men. Though it can be crazy hot on women. At the same time I'm not vain enough to dye my hair brown or something.

Kid story side note: One time as a kid a person walked up to me and my mom in a store and asked me where I got my red hair from. I immediately shot back "God" and then looked at my mom like "what's wrong with this idiot?"

- Never stop learning

Observation: It can, but IMHO the crazy to hot ratio just isn't worth the risk. Not surprizing that redheads can score high on both.

OK ponder time. What one ( or more) movie were you looking forward to that turned out to be a total disappointment???

I'd say for me it'd be not a movie but an episode of Bones. I was sooo looking forward to the season finale where they'd promised to bring back a beloved character. They did but they did it as a total alternate universe no one is who they normally are mess. I hated it. Ruined the whole excitement and joy for me.

Good morning Ponderers.

Not sure of what else t watch this summer. Harry Potter seems to be the only thing that comes to mind. Sucks not being able to frequent the local theater. Two movies per week is all we get. Sometimes we get three, but many run for several weeks at a time.

But they do have actual paper tickets.. you know the kind you get at school carnivales.... so cute. Also the screen is at the back of a real wooden stage and the theatres have real wooden floors... and when you get food there it comes on paper plates

Ooh also this summer GI Joe, Inglorious Basterds ( how much do I love that they've had to ask reviewers to point out that they know Basterds is a misspelling. )

Spiderman 3 and Xmen 3 both royally sucked. So did Superman Returns. I think X3 and Supes were the same summer too. That was a bad movie summer.

Edit: oh oh Pirates of the Caribbean 2. The first one was so whitty and came out of no where. Then the second one just rehashed the same jokes as much as possible. I hate stuff like that. I think they said "why's the rum gone" like 4 times in the sequel. Yeah it was funny the one time in the original, but it's very difficult to find a joke that is funny over and over. Come up with something new! I disliked that movie so much I still haven't seen the 3rd and I don't rewatch the first one much anymore either. grrrr I hate when a sequel is so bad it makes you dislike the original.

Also, Phantom Menace is obvious.

I went to see The Taking of Pelham 123 today. I was pleasantly surprised. I saw the original when I was a kid, and this is one of the very, very few isolated instances when the remake is actually better than the original. As the bad guy, John Travolta was the shizznit - I don't often think bad guys are cool, but Travolta pulled it right off. Oh man, and the DIALOGUE!! One would almost think Uncle Joss wrote that movie, the dialogue was so zingy and true to life. There's one great scene where Denzel Washington is talking to John Travolta over the radio and subtly insults his boss who's standing right in front of him. Now his boss is a dink - reminds me very much of some hou-zi-de-pi-gu I used to work for. I could've clapped aloud at that part.

Good characters, good action and tension (like you expect anything less from Tony Scott), and a background of political corruption....wow. A really well-done movie, all told. Don't let your kids see it for a few years, but go forth and enjoy.

Wow I really just don't get people who want to decide what's right for other people. There was a segment on CNBC about online poker (which I like to play) and this lawyer guest says that it leads to alcoholism, child abuse, depression and suicide. Sweet shit man. I think I had 1 beer in a month. I don't have any child to abuse but there's no way I'd ever intentionally hurt a kid. I'm not depressed and I've never thought about committing suicide. What a psycho. I mean how do you even convince yourself that your cause is just when you have to lie about it?

It's not the online poker or anything else it's a combination of poor impulse control and addictive personalities... It's all about the individual and their choices. The root has to be in the person before the action can occur and the person has to make the choice to engage.
