Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I put up a post titled "Gorram Dog" on the website I run, complaining about something my dog had done, and yes, there are a couple of Browncoats there. One of them took me to task by posting back "I just want to point out somebody has been spending WAY too much time with FireFly judging from curse word of the day." Not that anyone can spent too much time with Firefly...so I responded "What a gou se thing to say!"

Now one of our Brit members has asked what the hell we're talking about, and I had to explain about Chinese and Firefly and Joss' use of made-up words to avoid the censors, etc. Have to watch myself...it's awful tempting to swear in Chinese...

We really do live in our own little universe sometimes, don't we?

Now and then it's fun to pepper language with a few chinese curse words. Only place I've really done that is here... Think I might've used gorramn once on another board, but most of them have seen Firefly as well.

I've been know to a choice 'gorram' slip out , on occasion. Conversely, I've also used 'shiny' a few times as well, and it's been received quite well.
