See it's that shopping contains icky things like being in stores, and trying on clothes, and sales clerks.... I like buying. Buying is fun. You decide you need an item, use computer to locate item, then nice people put it in a package and it comes to your house.... much better than shopping

I only go to stores if I know just what I need and can walk ing, grab it and take it to check out without spending more than 20 minutes in the store...

Sadly I find shopping boring ( yes I realize this may revoke my girl status)

HK: found my SS card (well, my friend found it for me...after 3 days of looking for it) WOOT! I can haz work as of tomorrow! (Don't ask me why they demand I haz SS card...even teh fed job I had accepted my passport w/out my SS card.)

Ooohhh...tool that includes fire...pretty toy...
*puts in an order for a portion of the bar and grill to be made fireproof (and vented) so that melted object don't set the room on fire (and all stinky possibly toxic gases get vented away from the bar patrons) with ninjakitty snackage space*

*gives ninjakitty double her minimal red vines, ice cream sammiches, and p.p.c.o.d (poperly polished, chilled can-o-'Dew).* When teh new fireproof and vented area is installed, I'ze asks all fire-playing stays in that area, 'cause bar-and-grill going all aflame !pretty.

Avery: What MsA said...without the ribbing 'round the neckline (like most t-shirts would have) tho'.
('course, I wear 'em as blouses w/out the jacket or the cardigan, but Hawaii business style!= mainland business style.)

Kel: condolences on the continuing streak of teh Lions. Hopefully, the knowledge that Dallas lost their home game at their brand new stadium might ease the pain a little bit. (My friend who helped me find my SS card made me watch with him the opening ceremonies and most of the first quarter of the game with him... I iz a bit torn...I know my ex will probably be upset his team lost and that gives me conflicting feelings...*hangs head in shame* I iz truly naughty...)

(back to HK) SILK JEANS?! WT... I thought "jeans" by definition had to be made mainly of cotton or a cotton blend?
*giggle* okay, we now need to find a popular "modern" designer to create some PVC stuff for "regular" day wear for the fashion shows...

MsA: Awww...but that means mediocre people like me need to find time to get stuffs from teh "Luxe" stores...
...and is it teh "shopping" or the "dealing with teh crazie sales people, other customers, etc.?"

I'm more of a tactile shopper....gotta see, touch, examine, and try on before I buy. Plus I get the extra "joys" of 6+ weeks and extra shipping fees 'cause I don't live in the contiguous 48....Plus, having grown up with a seamstress in the family (grandma), it's an innate thing for me.

*finds comfy seat to curl up on and dozes off*

barkeep, something to help me speed read please.

MsA: No, I get where you're coming from on the shopping thing. I'm of the same mindset. I've tried the whole 'shopping to kill time' thing, but it just don't work, (unless I'm in an electronics store 'ooh, shiny toys!'). Otherwise I'm just "okay, there's nothing here I want or need. Now what?"

WAKEUPSOON

((*breathes*))

I actually have a night off!! WOOOH. ((*does a little dance*)) Today is already brilliant. PLUS my phone finally broke completely .. but this turned into a good thing - I went into Tesco to buy a new phone, and having no money my dad had agreed to lend me some towards one, but only £30. So, I was going for the cheapest of the cheap. One of the guys who worked there came in, asked me what network I was on, when I told him Tesco's own, he asked how long I'd been on it. I told him a bloody age, so he typed my number into some database, and clicked a few buttons and HEY PRESTO money off voucher for a new phone. Apparently I'm a valued customer tho, I got the maximum amount available on the voucher - as in, £100!! I'm so excited its untrue. I have to wait for my voucher to come, but then I get a new phone for free. I've narrowed down my choice to either the Samsung Tocco Lite, or the LG Cookie. I don't know which yet tho.

Also, new MIKA album came out today :) I'm basically ecstatic.

And, new House AND new Castle in the US tonight, which means I can download and watch tomorrow

Anyway, very good mood. This round's on me. ((*gets drinks in*))

HUGS to all.

HUGS WuS... well that is good news ( and you can't go wrong with LG) Hey at least you weren't dressed as a Jedi...apparently they aren't welcome in Tesco

Ok just got back from the doc... I have a sinus infection and they've put me on antibiotics... always nice to be given the choice between bad thing and really bad thing..

I know it made me laugh... some guy came in to Tesco in Jedi gear and was asked to remove his hood. He said no as it's his official religion ( by the way you guys get props for coolest nation ever for allowing that as a religion) and the Tesco people kicked him out

Well it's mostly a worry because antibiotics are bad for the baby, but the infection is worse so they are hoping the antibiotics can clear this up and I don't end up with problems

Agreed, best religion ever XD Idk how it works tho .. They probably kicked him out because of the hood thing. Hoodies are linked to young thugs and hooligans who cause trouble, if he'd had his hood down they might not've minded.

&& yeah, but infection is much worse than antibiotic. Hopefully you'll only need one course and the baby will be just as perfect as he should be :)

In light of this most disturbing tale of anti-jedi behaviour from my country's shopping establishments I might be forced to re-think my purchasing of some Obi-Wan style robes in the future. If you cant go to buy milk as a jedi, what's the point?

He was probably new to the whole thing though, my exchange would have went more like this...

"Oi, you cant wear that in here, take it off!"
*wavy hand motion*
"I do not need to remove my hood. Tesco welcomes the Jedi to their store. Have a nice day"

((waves her hand in the air, Jedi-style, and softly says))...
: No rethinking. These are the robes you want.

Besides, it wasn't about being a Jedi, it was about wearing a hood. My favourite part was how the company pointed out that the three most famous Jedi {Jedis? Jedii?} appeared in public without their hoods on (Yoda, Obi-Wan, Luke). I thought that was a little bit fantastic. XD

[/lurk]Ahh, the joys of resuming work after a 6 week break to find that nothing seems to have changed. In fact, it seems as though I never left... which would be a bad thing, as it would indicate that I merely hallucinated the entire trip to the US of A (although certain sneaky types are liable to try claiming that my meeting them was always just a hallucination regardless).

GEE

Hey all,

I've had an amazing day. For my birthday (and Christmas too) my folks and my sis all grouped together and bought me a VIP Taxy ride in one of the only three moving Lancaster Bombers in the world.

To make matters even more poignant we had four vets on the day and all four were in my morning session, which meant I rode for my taxy experience in the rear with two vet gunners talking about their experiences.

The museum there was also brilliant and I have had the most amazing and humbling day.

I'd try to explain how I feel but it is such a complex array of things I am truly not sure where to begin.

I've got to get on with some revision so will come back and be more conversational later when I have my stuff a bit more collected.
