Hello.

I was just wondering what imagery from Joss's shows people find particulalry moving or inspiring or that somehow captures a moment so perfectly that it becomes imprinted in your minds.

There are many to be sure but I thought it may prove interesting to see if some imagery is shared between us...

For me:

BUFFY

•Buffy in her Prom dress wearing a denim jacket and holding a crossbow in the sewers.

•Spike resigned to unrequited love for Buffy, embrasses a Crucifix and burns - without acknowleding the pain.

•Joyce Summers on the couch... Motionless.

Angel

•Angel high above the rooftops of Los Angeles looking down below at the city he has to save. His head low as though praying or remorseful for his past actions.

•Rooftop fight from season 4 with the Beast. Wesley diving in slow mo, guns blazzing!

•Angel sinking to the bottom of the ocean for the finalé to season three

•Cordelia surrounded by a static world also from the finalé to season three.

Firefly

•Serenity flashing out of view a bright yellow glow in her wake as she evades the Alliance.

•Mal's face as the Alliance ships descend upon Serenity Valley.

•Jubal Early spinning towards infinty at the end of Objects in Space.

•Books hair.

•Inara crying in Hearts of Gold.

•The whole crew sat at the dinner table in Out of Gas laughing.

SERENITY

•The shot of Mal in silhouette as he delivers his speech to the crew.

•Big reveal of River still standing after her battle with the Reavers and the wall behind her implodes to reveal an explosion of light! Awesome!

•Pull out from the Serenity logo on the side of the ship to then do a full 360 of her.

Dollhouse

•Boyd and Ballard fighting on the steps

•Boyd knocking Sierra's handler through the sheet of glass.

•Mellie turning around to utter the words "Bouncy the Rat!" at Ballard. In reference to the internet character. - soo cute!

Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog

•Felicia on the floor with a piece of shrapnel in her chest. So sad.

•A giant Dr Horrible stomping around the city and squishing Captain Hammer! Funny.

Ok those are the ones that spring to mind. I'm sure a re-watch with this in mind will generate a few more but for now that's me done...

Anyone have any more?

Firefly: Jaynestown

When Jayne confesses to his mob of adoring hero worshipers that he is pretty much a fraud and a phony. The expression on Adams face tells of the pain and unbridled discomfort he’s feeling at reveling the truth but it must be told. It’s a scene where he delivers that he must come clean even though he was lost in the fantasy of being a real hero for a while.

I really like the way that scene in Jaynestown came out. Very powerful and believable.

Dollhouse - Epitaph One

The first time we see destroyed LA at the end of the episode in the post apocalyptic world as Maurissa Tanchareon and Jed Whedon's "Remains" plays

There are lots more for me from previous Joss shows, but that one particularly sticks out for me.

Firefly - Bushwacked

In the show, Simon is pretty much the audience. He's the new guy thrown into a situation he normally wouldn't be in.

The shot of Simon outside the ship, in a suit, trying to keep calm. It's not just about Simon, it's what the show is about. This is what it's like on the raggedy edge. Clearly Simon is terrified of a spacewalk, but he'll suck it up (his fear, well...most of it) if he absolutely has to (protect someone).

Here are the first few that comes to mind.

Angel:
Faith in the shower hitting the wall in frustration after being beat up by the Beast in Season 4.

Faith hitting at Angel in 'Five by Five' during season 1, right before she bursts into tears.

Angel and the crew in 'Whole in the World' right before he sends the team out to do their jobs he say "Winifred Burkle"

Buffy:
Xander during the season finale of season 6 when he faces off with dark Willow.

Buffy in season 5 'The Body'. "Mommy?"

Buffy in 'Anne' holding that hatchet thing (the scene that made it into the credits)

Firefly:
Simon and River about to be burned at the stake

Kaylee and the strawberry

Kaylee listening to Tracy's message

The end scene of 'The Message'

I only have Firefly & Serenity.
Pilot: Kaylee and the strawberry.

Mal: Well that has an evvect on the landscape. In the cargobay with Simon, Dobson, Book, just before Kaylee is shot.

Inara: because so few are. Speaking to Book about men having no mystery.

Ariel: Mal wrenching Jayne.

OoG: Zoe "Never happen again" after Mal says she disobeyed orders by returning and saving his life.

Serenity: River at Maidenhead. River's My Turn. Kaylee: I'm gonna live! River overhead listening to Jayne and Kaylee as Jayne drops the part and kicks it into the garbage hold. Mal: Fanty's prettier.

BDM: "Not that you ... spit." How much better than Kaylee's multiple expressions showing her turmoil.

Firefly: Hearts of Gold,
Inara slumped on the floor crying her eyes out when she realises what has gone on between her soulmate and her good friend. I have been that girl and I know exactly how she felt...I sobbed along with her the first time I saw it. It's kind of a non betrayal betrayal. I suppose them's the breaks when either one of you holds back.

Firefly:Ariel I've said it before, but the scene where Mal locks Jayne into the airlock after knocking hom out with the wrench. It shows us that dark "don't mess with me" Mal. That side of me scares me and a few other people so this scene always impacts.
