'Cause you keep not coming to D*C Rosie.. .. which you totally should do.

OK I would like to instate a maximum allowable stupidity policy... if you go past the line, you get slapped repeatedly

Example just went to pick up my contacts at walmart on the way in I pass these two middle aged women getting out of a car in the handicapped stall and one says to the other " it's so great when we borrow dad's car and can park in the handicapped."

On the way out.... I pass this woman ( easily 300+ pounds) smoking like a condemned man about to be blindfolded talking to her friend about how her doctor hasn't prescribed enough drugs to her to fix her emphasema( sp?) and he'd better do something about it.

Holy crap, apparently no one here has seen House. And which is worse, calling it a parasite or calling it an alien? I could hardly call a human child an alien, either. SR called it (it being general, and not in reference to anyone specific) an alien and I instantly remembered a scene: "you have a parasite." "a PARASITE?????" "Oh it's no big deal, you can give it a name, dress it up, take it to play dates with other parasites..." (paraphrased) and I know eeeeeeeeeeeeveryone is gonna see this and say House was being insensitive too, and so on, since everyone seems to be in a shit-ass mood today, but I wasn't even referring to MsA. At all. Ever.
Has anyone noticed that the one person it should matter to (I haven't forgotten you, NV, I'm sorry) most hasn't replied? I will apologize to NV since I know it's his kid too, but MsA doesn't appear to be offended, or maybe she didn't see my response.

MsA, if you haven't seen it or are just noticing, and you're offended by it, I sincerely apologize. I wasn't referring to peanut, and I never meant to imply that it was referring to peanut.

I think y'all need to get a fuckin' grip. This is what I hate about written posts as opposed to conversation, it's too goddamn easy to take something in a way it wasn't meant to be taken in the least, and automatically connect it to something it was never meant to be connected to. Jesus Christ. I was thinking about something completely fucking different.

Oooooookayyyyy.....

So. Yeah. We're all supposed to realize that you were talking about an episode of HOUSE instead. Of course. It's so apparent. Obvious, even.

Now, I completely understand what you were trying to say about written word versus actual conversation, and how the two can potentially convey different meanings even though the words are the same, by way of body language, intonation, facial expression, etc. But you completely fucked the dog here, kiddo.

In context, no matter what playful lilt there was in your voice, you were following a conversation regarding MsA and her little boy. The connection was inescapable, no matter what may have going on in your mind. There is no goddamned reason everyone should have known you were talking about that one time in that one episode where Dr. House said that one thing to that one chick......

Also?

HOUSE contains approximately one billion times more awesome than all of your posts combined. So the "insensitivity" you perceive from House, in the hands of these writers, comes out as clever, witty reparte. Comparison to your post = no.

We may need to "get a fucking grip", but you sure as shit need to get a fucking clue.

I had referred to my own pregnancy experience and my own idiomatic train of thought.

Technically mammalian reproduction does qualify as a parasitic relationship.
It is not a symbiotic relationship as the developing fetus does not contribute to maternal health, and in fact puts great strain and demands on the female without returning anything tangible to the relationship. (Emotional well being aside in higher mammals and the eventual goal of perpetuating the maternal genetics aside.)The organisms in lichen get a better deal than mammals.

The are cute little parasites, though! Except for naked mole rats...they are at no stage in their development what I could call cute and keep a straight face.

We should, however, pause to remember that gestating humans are in a highly volatile emotional state resulting from drastic hormonal imbalance, and anyone who knows as much as MsA about making sure the bodies and evidence are never discovered really should not be baited when they are in said condition. Additionally humans tend to get very upset when you essentially call something generally considered cherubic and the embodiment of innocence a tapeworm.

I love babies, my hands reach out for them of their own volition and higher mental function ceases when I am near one.
I am aware that they are technically a very endearing ex-parasite. I am also aware of exactly what their mother went through to get them here and still cannot explain why we put ourselves through that more than once, because we KNOW BETTER the next time. Who thought mammals up, anyway?!

Let us remember that even Zoe was not immune to the schmoogie-woogies...

And stop bitching about "written posts" you seem to be the only one that has problems with it. If you noticed you are always the one fucking everything up. No one else seems to have a problem with their posts being "taken in a way that it wasn't supposed to be"

And don't try to cover it up. People were talking about a baby and you say "parasite" right after. Man up and apologize instead of making excuses like you ALWAYS DO.

*preps self for another tirade, but*
when the meaning of something isn't clear, but you think I might mean one thing and not something else, there is always asking. "Whoa. Are you calling MsA's baby a parasite?" response: "Oh jeez, no. I was referring to House. Sorry about that." If I'd been on at all today I would have been able to respond sooner and put this whole misunderstanding to rest before it blew up, but I haven't been near a computer so, sorry. And if anyone even noticed I did apologize, so holy crap put it to rest. I explained myself and apologized and even PM'd MsA asking her to please weigh in, even if only in another PM, and I anxiously await her response. Jesus.

I find it hard to believe I fuck up *everything* and ALWAYS make up excuses since I don't go around deliberately insulting every single person on this site. I try not to do that even accidentally but apparently I sometimes do, and I while I appreciate that being brought to my attention, the manner is a bit... I think the last time I had a tirade was because I'd had a bad day and I misread something someone else said. *familiar?* I'm not gonna leave over a misunderstanding I've already apologized for. I love this place too much and the fact that I apologized should speak to that. If I didn't care I would have said "I don't owe anybody anything. Fuck all of you, whatever."

I'm not covering anything up, I was explaining myself and what I meant. I WASN'T referring to MsA at ALL, but apparently no one believes me when I say that, and I don't know how many different ways I can say it.

But since my previous apology apparently wasn't enough:

MsA, if I offended you in any way, I am sincerely sorry, and didn't mean anything by it. I hope you believe me and I hope you forgive me.

Thanks for the apology FLT, but yeah calling my baby an it and a parasite is not really a good choice even if you're kidding. Rosie's alien comment was a continuation of a long standing discussion about how when you can see the baby move it kind of looks like alien and how it feels very alien to have another human moving inside you...( again it would help you not make missteps if you read the posts more carefully)
NV was fairly offended by the idea of the baby as a parasite since it's like calling him a flatworm or something else that stems from unclean or disgusting sanitary conditions.
Also it's best to remember that if you're referring to something you might want to include that in your post
I do think you have a tendency to not pay attention to other posts and not really think through what you say so it gets you into trouble more often than anyone else.
If you're going to joke try to remember to put LOL or smile face or something to add context to your post

Sorry MsA, I put the :P in lieu of the "LOL" I'll be sure to include it in the future >_<;; and the specificity of the reference, but thank you for not being *can't find the right word* --unreasonable? irrational? is the only one I can think of, but it doesn't sound right *no snarkyness intended*-- in your response, and in bringing the last bit to my attention. Yeah, sometimes I skip past posts or don't get it the first time round when I think I do, I'll try to read more carefully in those instances.

I'm very sorry you took offense to that, NV, and I know I've already said I didn't mean it that way, but I don't know what else to say. I hope we can both move past it.

Roxy (and anyone else who shares the above opinion): I had no idea anyone was having that reaction to my regular posts. If these things aren't brought up as they happen, can I really know I'm doing something wrong? I'm sorry if that's been frustrating to the regulars, but if someone doesn't say, "can you not constantly post like that?" how can I know it's an issue? Otherwise something like this happens and the person of issue gets completely blind-sided. I've seen it happen before in person, so things like clarity of communication (or feeling, perception, whichever you wish to call it) are a huge issue of interest for me. Now that I "FINALLY" know, I'll try to curb it, but I think that could have been avoided had someone said something sooner.

FLT, I'm going to point out to you that people have been nicely telling you that for a long while now...From polite questions about your age (because folks were getting confused with the "I'm at my parent's place and I'm hungry" and "I'm at my place and my boyfriend isn't here and I'm hungry"), to other times when you have been told nicely to "deal with it like the grown-up you're supposed to be" (my paraphrasing here).
So here's my suggestion to avoid people jumping down your throat when you're quoting another show: MENTION THE SHOW BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR QUOTE (e.g. "As House would say: 'It's a parasite.'" or "It's a parasite, not an alien, according to House.") Smileys don't always cut it, 'cause not everyone understands all the different types of smileys used. And/or add a line afterwards that says either: (joking!), (kidding!), (teasing!) or some other way to let folks know you're commentary which may be taken out of context can be recognized.
A lot of us who have been here longer will point out to you that you're getting off mildly here. Please recognize that and start behaving like the adult (over 18-year old) that you're supposed to be.

wow, weekend suckage, followed by Monday hmphnurgh.

sorry to hear about your troubles HK, even more so if we lose you for a bit but you know, do what you got to do but there'll always be a bit of the bar stocked with friendly shadows, dew and wandering targets, I mean people to amuse you.

Hope you can tough it out MsA, I'm sure NvG is doing his full quota of footrubs etc so once again hoping all is well and you get your peanut in your arms as soon as healthily possible.

Hey Kel, I feel you on the football, ok so my team have been teasing me the other way this season but have two decades of consistent uselessness before and there is nothing worse than the we're about to turn a corner, oh no we're not!

Must get on, need to check spam lists, get to doctors and hopefully order power rack for garage

Noooooo, no leaving! Staying, staying is a better idea. We can make all better, because we are awesome like that.

Man, all this negativity has to stop. We're all so stressed. We need group Breakables Room time, complete with full body armor and flame throwers.

*hugs MsA and gets her a blanket, time machine and pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting*

*glomps Kel with mighty force*

Today is my day to play nurse. The hubby has a nasty cold. I even had to go pick him up from work. Poor guy. Gotta run out and get him more things to make sickness go away. Or, ya know, I really could play nurse and maybe that will make him feel better... bow chicka bow wow. (yes, I said it for you. dirty minds...).

Gave up the other 2 kittens to my bro Sat. night. That was really difficult, but they love them and the one we kept, Reno, is doing very well. He's running 'round the room in a paper bag as I type this. He's such a nut.

Roxy: And here I thought my friend's cat was the only one that got herself stuck in paper bags (then knifes her claws through the paper whenever someone touches said bag). hope the hubby feels better.

Exactly the reason why Roxy (and those like her) end up as some of the greatest allies ever known. Guns, gaming and girls (or guys) who know how to treat their men (or women).

Eating a two day cured BBQ pork 'wich on toasted bun with fries and ketchup with Tobasco. Gonna pitch the BBQ recipe to the honcho as a bar favorite later.

HUGS Hk sweety well if you need to rant and rave... we're here and we love you

LOL Roxy my kitty had this hatred of paper bags, but bring home a cardboard box, no matter the size, he would try and squeeze in and stay ( great pic of him with just his hinder wedged into a child's shoe box

My brain is trying to come up with an amalgamation of "Devil take the hindmost" "Nike" and "hinder".

"Nike take the hindermost"?

"Fluffybutt, just do it"?

(Walks over to breakables room. Updates inventory to include full body armor (adjustable and inflammable) and flamethrowers. Cranks NIN to ear bleeding levels.)

"IN THERE! GROUP HUG!! HUTHUTHUT!!!"
(or..you know, a mosh pit..)

(really wishes there was a moshing emoticon..)

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

This is the best I can do...

(...Also, 'inflammable' means the exact same thing as 'flammable' so unless you want to easily catch on fire, what you want is 'noncombustible' armor.)

I always wondered why there were two words for easily set on fire... can't we just choose one?

...BWAHAHAHAHAAAA....

(Okay, I didn't actually realize it didn't mean what I thought it meant.. but for a moment I had a vision of quite a nighttime display..)

Can I invent "unflammable"?

Sure, why not

(Looking through the antonyms, 'nonflammable' would also be acceptable... I think...)

um, PR...*points at vidthing* what exactly is that happening? :P other than something that looks spazztastic and funny.

I've always wondered why 'inflammable' means 'flammable'. It just doesn't seem to make sense.

The bf and I are watching a National Geographic special on armored cars (custom ones, like SUVs, not like the bank ones), and it's pretty cool (especially the one with the mounted rotatable machine gun whoooooooooooa) :D just thought I'd put that out there. interesting stuff.

*shambles into bar*

Don't shoot Kel! No zombies here just a double achilles disaster, apparently hadn't recovered as I thought I had from last week's football. Lots more ice and rehab needed it seems.

Hmmh, deja vu, typed something similar last night but internet ate it and I had to do some washing up and ice ankles. Mind you, I get proper deja vue everynow again where I'd swear I dreamed stuff before but it's always really mundane situations and never something interesting.

I have to say that NVG's BBQ ribs sound good, v hungry now.

Erm... FLT, I believe the man in PR's photo, is moshing ie nearest to a moshing emoticon, could be slam dancing of course, me, I'm always at the back watching the band or in the band so not really an expert.

trying to cultivate a loving tolerance to all mankind but not going well, there's something about users that does bad things to me and yet once upon a time I was amazingly tolerant, I think perhaps 7 years of IT has done bad things to me though.

*hobbles into corner to elevate legs and wrap ankles in ice*
