This is what i've been working with nasa on my drawing on ion propulsion system. NASA was very happy with. But it's far from being done.

NASA keeps me busy with this.
Were having trouble with the sparklers melting the plastic. We may need to switch to tinfoil.
But with Ming screaming about destroying the Earth we are in a hurry.

Tin foil's heavier, otherwise about the same in malleability, conduction, and anti-corrosion.

Also, both are reasonably non-toxic, which is why food is packaged in tin or aluminum cans. Unless the cans have an inner BPA lining, in which case eating from them may give you or your children cancer.

I'm conserned about the brightness of the sparklers. They make the ship look like it's actually self-propelled. We also discovered the need to use poor quality film so the wires don't show. These new HD films show everything.

I'M glad you ask that i did a paper on this to at Yale Now the nearest other galaxy to our galaxy is a galaxy called Andromeda. It’s interesting that actually Andromeda Galaxy is moving towards us at a large rate of speed, about 300,000 miles an hour. It’s coming towards us and we’re going towards it. And one reason I wanted to show you Andromeda is because it looks very much like our galaxy, we think. Of course nobody’s ever been out there to look at our galaxy from a distance. We see our galaxy from the inside. It’s hard to see what it really looks like. But this is the nearest galaxy. They’re called spiral galaxies. You can see kind of a little bit of spiral shape to this one too. And that is our nearest neighbor, and it’s about 2.5 million light-years away. So this is the way the Andromeda Galaxy looked 2.5 million years ago. And aside from knowing our physics of what might have happened in the meantime, we don’t have any direct evidence for what it looks like now. This is what it looked like 2.5 million years ago. Now, together with Andromeda we make up what’s called a local group or a local cluster of galaxies. The Milky Way and Andromeda are the biggest ones, but there are some other smaller ones, what are called dwarf galaxies. And they’re being pulled towards each other by gravity, which attracts any two objects (but gets weaker as objects get further apart). The Milky Way and Andromeda are closing at about 300,000 miles an hour . In a mere 3 billion years we’re going to hit and the two galaxies will probably merge. Andromeda is bigger than us so we’re the ones that are going to get smashed up worse. One astronomer said it’s a big car wreck coming, and we’re the Yugo. But actually although it sounds scary there’s so much space between stars that the chances of any star hitting any other star during the collision is probably pretty small. So our solar system probably won’t directly be disturbed much but the gravitational pull of the other galaxy coming by might move someplace different in the resulting wreckage, we don’t know where, maybe far away. We may get thrown away out where there aren’t too many stars around, and we may get pushed towards the center. So it’s another thing you can worry about.

So we’re in this little local group of galaxies, and then our local group is part of a bigger group of galaxies called a supercluster. It’s actually called the Virgo supercluster. It is called that because the center, if you look out in the sky, is somewhere in the constellation Virgo. And the supercluster of galaxies has thousands of galaxies in it. The center of the Virgo supercluster is about 60 million light-years from us, and our galaxy is a rather insignificant part of the supercluster.

More or less the biggest groupings of things in the universe are these superclusters. (There are some combinations of superclusters but I won’t talk about that.) Basically the universe looks just like bunches of superclusters all over the place. And then there are many, many other superclusters as we look out in the sky. There are millions of them. Millions of superclusters all together are what we can see out in what we might call the observable universe. As far as we can see there are something like 100 billion galaxies and, as I said, millions of superclusters, each one containing thousands or tens of thousands of galaxies.

I just talked about how many galaxies there were -- maybe 100 billion --- in the “observable universe,” which includes everything out to the greatest distance we could in principle see or observe. Now if you asked how far can we see, it actually gets to be a difficult question, because when you’re looking out that far you’re looking out very long ago. And when you’re looking out very long ago, you’re seeing what things looked like very long ago, billions of years ago. And you’re seeing the light that left them billions of years ago. You’re not seeing where they are now. So if you ask how big the observable universe is, you have to be very careful to keep straight whether you’re asking “how far away was that galaxy when it emitted the light?” or you’re asking “how far away is it now?” Those can be very different things. So suppose you ask how far are they away now. Well, of course again we don’t have direct evidence. We’re not seeing them now -- we’re seeing them as they were billions of years ago -- but the diameter of the observable universe is NOW probably something like 80 or 100 billion light-years. It’s an immense amount. And as long as we’re talking about immense numbers in that observable universe with our 100 billion galaxies and 100 billion light-years, the number of atoms is something like 1078 or 1079. You’ve got to give me a little margin for error here. You may not know this notation. It’s called scientific notation. When you start talking about enormous numbers it’s a pain to write all those zeroes. 1078 means 10 raised to the 78th power, which just means a 1 with 78 zeroes. I don’t want to take half the class to write the number with the 78 zeroes. Instead you write it this way. So it’s about that many atoms in what we can see. An enormous number!
