Well it was about that time folks.

This week needs to end! Been on the road back and forth to the same site 3 times in the last 5 days! 120+ miles each way and I still have to go back at least once more!!!

So yeah too lazy to linky the old Pub.... I am sure one of me patrons will complain about it and then do it for me so.....

Belly up to the Bar Boys and Girls and lets have a drink!!!

Took in another kitten for my best friend till she get's her own place. He's a cutie, but man does he hate my other cats. He growls at the floor and walls and furniture, he growls while he eats (which sounds hilarious), he growls while he's in the cat box (also hilarious). But he luvs people. Such a weird one.

Heh, certainly would fit him. He actually just nipped at my nose, I gave him a good swat. I think since he's 'bout 6 months and was abandoned he might be a lil wild still. I hope he doesn't turn into a biter.

I'm attempting to make chili tonight... I hope I don't 'splode the kitchen... >.>

hey all,

My other half won't turn of Highschool musical, does it count as spousal abuse, I mean she knows it's shit and is just doing it to wind me up.

Long day, works sucky but tomorrow is last day of week, have Friday off for revision.

Feel your pain Kel, hope it clears up soon.

I'm slightly weirded out by a grumpy MsA, what else did I miss in the last thread since yesterday?

Yes ...playing High School Musical is both abusive and destructive to your mental faculties... get back at her by playing Brittney Spears on low while she sleeps so she wakes up singing Brittney songs

I'm avoiding students right now... too grumpy to help. Mostly I just want to smoosh or smash things.

High School Musical is very annoying.... Heard it in the background a few times as Rose's (at the time) 10 year old granddaughter loved the movie.

And there's a Browncoat connection too...

Ha. I remember recognizing Young Simon in the first High School Musical movie poster and thinking, "I know that face from somewhere........." Sorry that ruined him for ya :\

As for Hugo Weaving, yeah, he's not hot, but I think his voice fits the role perfectly, IMHO. Do you still like the movie as a whole, regardless of the lack of hotness, lol?

It did! It's a long story, and I'm happy to explain it. I've just been so busy with work and now with cleaning (family is traveling over from WI), I haven't had the proper time to type it all out for you. =(

Summary: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Advice: When dealing with Those People, especially That Person in particular, insist on a nice sized, non-refundable, cash deposit up front. If they follow through, that deposit can go to the final cost. >:(

Anyhoo, as soon as the family leaves (later this weekend), I'll let you know the details, if you're still interested. ^^

(Slinks in in shame. Sits on a stool at the bar. Puts head down on bar and orders something stiff.)

I *almost* made it to my 38th birthday karaoke free.

When your sister and your mother are in town and they drag you out to a karaoke bar and inform you that you are NOT leaving without singing, and you won't be seeing your sister for a year AGAIN, and your mother gives you THE LOOK... what else can you do?

(2am Breathe by Anna Nalick for those who insist on the gory details. I could not hear myself at all and can only hope I was on key for most of it.)

Then it got louder. I had to plug my ears because it was causing actual pain. (Sober by Tool?) I could still hear it just fine and was enjoying it once my eardrums stopped threatening to bleed out.

So now it's 12:06 and I'm still wired from the coffee at dinner six hours ago.

"2am and I'm still awake writing this post, got to get it all down before I turn to toast.."

must sleep.

I'm just used to doing it in the privacy of my own campfire or living room, or onstage with a sound system which allows you to actually hear your own voice to check for tone and tempo.. that wee teleprompter is weird.

Also, I don't think I was drunk enough to enjoy it. There were several people there from a group home (I'm assuming) two of which got up, and while the quality of the performance may have left a little to be desired in the accuracy department I enjoyed their performances better than most of the drunk people getting up and singing 80s heavy metal. (My sister's Guns N Roses rendition not included. She was having fun and actually made it through the song without major error.)

One woman jumped off the foot-high stage then did a sprawling face plant on the dance floor. She got up and kept working the crowd, so she was either fine or she was so drunk she didn't feel it. I'm not sure she noticed, really.

I am not opposed to the principle of singing to canned music in public. It's the really bad singing by sloshed people I have trouble with. There were a few people who were actually quite good. It's still just not my scene. I went to spend time with my family, and I sang to make them happy.

I don't sing in public because I know how bad I sound and don't want to subject others to it. I'll leave the 'I refuse to accept how untalented I am' mindset to many of those auditioning for (insert name of country here) Idol.

Oh yeah, and I just finished a work week that contained more extra/double shifts than I'd prefer to acknowledge. While I think I could manage the occasional repeat (especially for the financial aid making February's trip last longer, and possibly be more comfy in terms of upgraded seats for the 14ish hr hop between SYD and LAX), my knee's are providing a loud and obvious rebuttal.

How we all doing?

I shall catch up when this exam madness is over, hope everyone is doing well, that MsA is enjoying her maternity leave (if I have my dates right)!

I NEVER do kareoke on the grounds that as I'm a competent musician, I know my limitations and while I'm ok doing studio backing vocals and have sung lead on occasion from behind a drum kit, that was years ago in dire need and people don't want to hear me sing, trust me on this!

I'm sure SR mentioned Sober by Tool, which gets her major kudos in my books if my memory is not playing tricks with me!

Sitting here taking pain meds and muscle relaxers to treat my self induced case of whiplash.

Since I was flagging where I had a visual on my partner, instead of using the radio we just used hand and head signals. A very exaggerated head nod while wearing a hard hat led to giving myself a case of whiplash over a six hour shift in the road.

Got home and I couldn't move my head. Taking good drugs at the moment so I'm feeling fine. Should be better by Monday so I can go to work. Gonna used the radio from now on though.
