OK, I've decided this is going to be my favorite character. Two reasons.

First, she seems to be totally disconected from "the engineer" in other space shows. No cute ethnic identity. A fondness for colorful kimonos and umbrellas. And apparently a little agoraphobic.

I've probably seen her, but she didn't register. Still, it's interesting: she has a long history playing children and teenagers. She's just turned 20, and Kaylee appears to be her first "grownup" role. Remind you of anybody?

Uhm, AH was 24 when Buffy started -- about 8 years older than her character! ED doesn't count, she was never a regular. So of course that leaves SMG, who turned 18 the day she got cast as Buffy.

Well, I recall Jewel from the 1996 kidvid "Space Cases." Cute little thing. Recall thinking that in six or seven years she'd be a real heartbreaker. Turns out I was right.

I thought she was... like... 24.

But wasn't Alyson Hannigan a pretty successful child actor too, and wasn't Buffy the first serious role she had? Maybe I'm wrong, I'm not that big on the actor history stuff.

Another one could be Seth Green, right? He was a regular, and was fairly young when he started on Buffy, right? Around 21, right?

Aly was a child actor of small fame, "My Father Married an Alien" was the only film she was in until the American Pie movies came out and most of her work was in commercials until she was over eightteen and started doing the normal circuit for a struggling actor/actress.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but Seth Green is about 28 now, so he was 24-ish when he started on the show. But he still looks like a teenager.

But if you want to talk younger than they look, Eliza Dushku was about 17 or 18 when she showed up as Faith. Shocked me when I heard that back in 1999.

Since we're off the subject of the lovely Kaylee and into the Jossverse in general, as has been mentioned Alyson Hannigan was the kid in "my stepmother is an alien" (1988) and her teen boyfriend in that film was none other than Seth Green
