How old is Tru supposed to be? mid twenties? early twenties? I mean I know she applies to med school, but you can do that fresh out of college or way out of college I'd imagine

Tru is mid twenties..23 or 24. Applies for med school directly after college (although in the pilot she graduates but is doing a summer internship which gets pulled. Within the next few eps she's suppose to take the MCATs...which if you were really going directly to Med school she would've already done, etc. Just one of the massive plot holes in Tru Calling...however if you don't focus on them it really was an interesting show.

I personally wouldn't buy it. Do you have Netflix? That's how I watched (and watch all the others series that I'm sad to have missed...Sliders is next...saw quite a bit of that when it first came out, but missed a whole lot, too)

Yeah my brother in law is just starting his residency ( meaning he's done 4 years of college, 4 years of med school, and took 18 months off school for personal stuff) and he's 27. So if she's 23-24 she either took a load of time off or she's dumb as a post

Well, I think she graduated at 22 (normal), but the whole MCAT timing was off because they made it seem like she'd be starting Med school the next fall but you don't take the MCATs the a month before you are IN Med school. So. I think the 23 is from the second season..supposedly a year later.

I remember seeing the MCAT episode. Why would you wait so long between graduating and med school? (though the whole internship thing might explain that). Interesting.

No, I don't have netflix :\ we tend to just buy the shows/movies we're interested in, lol.

You guys are creepy. :D

FLTx: I used to buy a lot of stuff and then get it home and was like "WTF is this waste of money?" I joined the $8.99 Netflix (1 disc out at a time, unlimited online viewing) precisely because I was tired of spending money on stuff I wouldn't waste my $$ on after having seen what it actually was. It is soooo much cheaper than buying or renting series. I've been able to catch up on episodes of season I missed (missed first few eps of Chuck S1 so I caught up there) and see shows I wasn't sure about (got disc 1, S1 of How I Met Your Mother, watched it, sent it back, cancelled the rest of the season........

and then when out and bought S1-3. (space for dramatic effect b/c I know there are some HIMYM fans on this site )

I've also watched some really cool stuff with their instant viewing: documentaries and such that I would never have rented, etc. I have my computer hooked up to my TV so it's just like watching on it.

'Course I'm also an avid hulu.com user. These days it's pretty silly, IMO to pay for cable/DVR and internet when you can watch almost anything you want online and do it on your own time. (and Pooh on CBS for using TV.com or whatever it is instead of hulu.)

*please note: This is not a paid advertisement for Netflix or hulu.com. Just that Rugbug was warm fuzzy feelings for both after years of no TV.

Tonight after the barn, I plan on 1)buying kitty carrier so I don't have to put cat in duffel bag again. and

2) Starting S4 of HIMYM which I purchased this weekend at that fabulous market to costliness...COSTCO. Woohoo.

Sorry...I've never seen Big Bang Theory. I hear I should watch Arrested Development as well. I might be able to handle those, but no amount of "but it's good" is going to get me to watch 'the West Wing.' Ugh.

As am I and I agree wholeheartedly on the cable thing, half the time there's nothing on any of 300+ channels, which is pretty sad (well, unless you watch 'reality' shows ><;;), and pretty much all of the shows the bf and I watch are on hulu anyway :P or on the given network's site.

And I agree with MsA, Big Bang Theory can be pretty choice XD (ditto with HIMYM, but you already knew that)

Yes, Dawn of the Dead was special. I did a parody from that movie on my cable access show (final scene after credits).

I never got into that show. My brother gave me the entire series on dvd and I was good and watched it all. The characters are all just too stupid for me. It's like watching live action simpsons. I can deal with stupidity like that in cartoons but not in real people.

My recommendation is Wonderfalls. I'm thinking of rewatching that series again sometime soon. It has some pretty darn funny moments in it.

Ugh...I heard the worst news ever on the radio this morning...hulu may start charging. Grrrrrr. It was something about Fox saying that they need to start getting money from the shows and that hulu.com agreed.

sad, sad and more sad.

Yuck sounds like you're right. That will be a downward spiral for them is my guess. They'll pick a fee that will pay off if they keep a decent amount of users after the change but they'll lose more users than expected. Then they'll need to jack up the fees to make up for that and still more will leave. Bah!

It doesn't really make sense to me because the shows are available elsewhere for free...and not just the illegal downloads. I can watch full episodes of Chuck on NBC or on Hulu (maybe NBC is different because it owns hulu...but can't you do that on other sites as well? You can watch Mtv shows on their stie free.) Why would I pay if I can watch it elsewhere for free? Basically, I would either find another way to watch or I would just not watch and wait for the DVDs to be available thru netflix.

It sucks being such a cheapskate. :le sad: :le sigh:

Nope there are loads of other sites where you can watch network shows but hulu was so easy... plus come on the commercials must be a decent revenue stream. It's just murdoch and his desperate grasping desire for money...

So, when they say the current stuff will remain free they mean the episodes online now and just the new episodes released later will cost money?

I just don't buy it. It's like the government with toll roads. They say it will just be one or two roads and then they taste that sweet sweet income and suddenly they're everywhere.

That sounds better. Would not like the idea of paying for shows that are years / decades old. If they have to charge extra because a network wants more money you can't fault Hulu. I have watched programs I have not seen in years and some I never saw when first run, so I appreciate Hulu's existance and the networks who make these programs available. I hope this continues.

I just figures since they've already aired it once, gotten revenue from the original airing, syndication, and other fees, plus advertising on Hulu... that'd be enough for them. It's not like these are original webisodes that they haven't already had a revenue stream from. It doesn't cost them any more to make them available on Hulu and they get even more revenue from the ads on it, plus it enhances awareness of the shows so more viewers, better ratings, can charge more for ads... I think that's why it bothers people.
