Well, first off, I should say I am also a first time poster to this place. I've been lurking for a while now and I must confess...I have been continually amazed by not only the wonderfully inspiring passion of fellow fans who post to these boards and helped to keep such genius work alive, but also the sheer degree of intellegince that is exhibited in virutally each and every post. Believe me when I say, reading these boards have quickly become one of the most addictive highlights of my day as I'm sitting on my ass at my lowly student job...trying to make up for all those brain cells I'm killing staring blankly at the computer screen otherwise...:-)

So yeah...I've been a part of a number of fandoms (the cult of Whedon reigning supreme of course:-) though I've always been pretty much of a silent observer than anything else. So imagine my surprise when I woke up one morning with a Firefly dream fresh in my head...feeling oddly compelled to share it with those who would be able to appreciate it most of all. A lot has faded at this point of course...and I'm not claiming anything espeically profound or deep or even all that entertaining here. But hey...I figured it'd be a fun excersice for me personally and I figured it was about time I take part in a community that I very much love...so here goes:

I was in some sort...shuttle craft I think. It wasn't Firefly I'm pretty certain, or if it was...I was in some unrecognizable nook or cranny of the ship. More specifically, I was in a compartment of sorts that felt rather small and cramped...though maybe cluttered is the better word. It had many controles and panels and metally looking devices lying around...with even some sort of tight staircase structure in one corner, I think, that was situated right next to a hangar like opening to the outside. That's the other thing -- the craft was on a planet...as in sitting on the surface with an entry way that was open to the outside. Even though it didn't look like Firefly itself, the feel of the craft and the tone of the atmosphere around me very much struck me as Firefly...especially since the whole compartment seemed bathed in a warm orange light very much highlighting the dust and barrenenss of the landscape outside as well as the interior of the compartment itself.

The only real action of the dream I remember at this point...was with Simon. At one point...I was standing near or sitting at a small round table of sort with a couple chairs on either side. It was situated to one side of the compartment against a wall...though I think actually it was less a wall than a huge wall-sized window...through which all that light was streaming through. Simon was at the other end of the compartment...where I think the majority of the mysterious electorics panels and dials and devices and such were placed. Now here's the most intriquing part...

As I'm standing/sitting there by the table...only maybe a foot or two from Simon...he turns to me with this somewhat perplexing but utterly sexy and endearing smirk on his face. Now I don't remember what conversation may have lead up to this point...but as he turns he says something like, "There are three things you should know about me...", showing me three fingers for emphasis. But then he refuses to tell me what those things are...saying something vague like he'll tell me in due time...but not now. He walks a bit past me and comes around to the other side of the table, and sits down at this point I believe. While he's coming around I push a little...saying something like, "well can you at least tell me the first thing...?". I'm smirking pretty obviously myself at this point partly because I'm incredibly intrigued, but also because this whole time I've been sensing a very strong flirtateous undercurrent to our exchange...and it's much fun:-) Unfortunetly, he declines once again to fill me in on even just the first thing...though I have no doubt he means it when he says he will tell me eventually.

At this point..things get a bit stranger and more random. The sequence of events is a bit blurry...but I do remember that all of a sudden some siren and/or series of blinking lights interrupts our little conversation. Then all at once...not only does Simon seem to have disappeared from the scene...but I have this funny feeling as if I'd been caught...and even a bit of unbelief, thinking to myself "how did this happend...what did I do..." and so on. I quickly become aware that a group of individuals are coming up to the craft. I panic since I don't really have anywhere to go...and there is no other exit to this compartment/craft. Regardless, before they begin to walk in through the entry way, I just duck under the small table I was at in desperation...knowing that it's not going to do me any good...as if that could possibly hide me...lol. But I do...and scrunch myself up real tight and quiet like...and then the group of men come into the craft. I don't remember if they were saying anything...but I distincly remember seeing the legs and feet...covered in western style slacks and dusty brown tough hiking-style boots...maybe a trench coat on one of two of the men. I also notice a few guns at their sides...and then that's basically it -- I wake up!

So...anybody else have thoughts, observations, intriguing/unique/amusing dreams of their own to share perhaps?:-)

My sister is a ship...we had a complicated childhood.

Hmmm. Sounds like YOU were Kaylee!

I once dreamed that David Duchovny worked where I work. He wasn't famous. He wasn't Mulder, it was just some guy named David Duchovny, co-worker. I stil don't understand it. But cool dream! Keep having them, I enjoyed your writing skills...

Welcome to the board!

Lucky! I wish I had a Firefly dream! I could have sworn I had one and can't remember it. You would also think I'd have a Buffy or Angel dream too by this time :/

Yeah, I've had a couple Firefly dreams. My brain is weird -- it will store up whatever I've seen/watched/read for a couple days then just mix it all together in some completely surreal way that I thoroughly enjoy.

One of the strangest was one where I was guest-starring on the show (which of course looked nothing like the actual show -- it kinda looked like a Louisana swamp crossed with a Ren faire) and I had to dive into this freezing cold pond. I heard everyone yelling at me, so I jumped into the water with my eyes closed, and when I came out, everyone told me there were huge killer salamanders in the water that had almost gotten me.
And for some reason, Nathan Fillion had heavy metal tattoos all over his body. He'd point to one of, like, Slayer or something and go, "You heard of them?"
He was very proud of them.

And he may have had a mullet.

"Well personally, I kinda want to slay the dragon."

THATWEIRDGIRL

I've had lots of Firefly dreams. Sometimes I am a character in unaired episode, like: I was Kaylee's sister, I was one of Simon's old classmates, I was a stowaway caught by Jayne, and a "sister" of Book's. Oh and Zoe beat me up for flirting with Wash in a bar. When I heard about casting for the film, I began having all kinds of dreams of being a part of the crew or cast and hanging out with the Firefly gang. I may be sick, I'll ask my shrink. Mostly though my Firefly related dreams are not suitable for young eyes as they have something to do with the shuai doctor.

Glad I'm not the only dreaming of Firefly.

PINGJING

I haven't actually dreamed of Firefly, I wish I would. I have, however, dreamed of Firefly fans. I was in a store, and this guy with a Firefly t-shirt walked by. I was so stunned at first that I was practically speechless, but I managed to ask him if he was a fan. Normally, I would also ask if and where he posted and what his screenname was, but I guess the dream ended too early for that. I've never met another fan in person, besides my sister, so it was cool to meet one. Even if not a real one.

Jayne: "Well, I say as a rule that girlfolk ain't to be trusted."
River: "Jayne is a girl's name."
