The wardrobe department.

But seriously, don't think they're officially available anywhere, but with the BDM coming up who knows. If you google around for cafepress you can find some Firefly shirts for sale.

I'm looking to get a full set of Jayne shirts myownself, as time and opportunity permits...

Well that and the fact that finding the right shade of rust for the Fighting Elves shirt is a Special Hell all in itself.

I'll bet they came from somewhere off-the-shelf retail. I kind of doubt they had them screen printed just for the show.

From everything I've seen they definately had them made up especially for the show. TV shows have (relatively) large budgets so it wasn't that big a deal for them to go and get a bunch of shirts for Jayne printed up.

The Fighting Elves shirt is the rust red one he wears with the 28 in a circle and Chinese letters above. The Chinese translation is,"The Fighting Elves".

EDIT: And that rust red color t-shirt is, like I said, a real pain to try to find anywhere, I've been looking for a month now.

Yes, this is true. I ordered one. Took 2 weeks to get here. Slower than book rate mail.

Now this is the GOOD part, they put the LOGO ON THE SHIRT UPSIDE DOWN. Note that it CONTAINS the English words BLUE SUN, in addition to the Chinese. Note also that the invoice/order form included with the shirt SHOWS IT RIGHT SIDE UP, IN COLOR. Monkey see, Monkey DO? How hard is it to LOOK at it after you printed it, to make sure you applied the proper logo, RIGHT SIDE UP?

Been 6 days since I contacted them via their site, and have not heard a word from them. (Maybe email takes two weeks as well?) Guess I'll have my credit card company deal with it.

If they want the shirt back, they can send a courier to pick it up.

Hellskitten has an excellent site if you wanna make your own shirts:

I had a 28 shirt made for the Fusion convention. The colour was slightly off, but the guy who made it said he could order that colour so I shall probably have another one made.

It's pretty gorram unbelievable that they treat their rutting customers that way. What you need to do is go down and get your money back from them personal like. The methods you use can be pretty non-specific.

Anyone know where I can get Jayne's hat?

one of the members of this site has a couple for sale. i got one. they are nice. he has two different versions of the blue sun shirt. i was wearing it in an airport not too long ago and someone recognized it.

incidentally, getting a t-shirt printed these days is very cheap to do. the local print shop here will do shirts for about $10 even if you only want one.

I spoke with the graphic designer from the show; he designed all the original "Jayne shirt" graphics, so, no, they're not off-the-shelf.

Wow, you gotta be impressed with that level of detail.

Still, they oughta release those. I'd buy 'em.

Provides the pattern if you want to knit it yourself or you use to be able to order one. Not sure if you can still do that, but no harm in asking.

The hats are excellent!

the link doesn't work for me.

I was kinda wondering about the one he wore in Jaynestown and train job, I thought one of them would be shiny too.

oh wait it worked. I'm pretty sure I would just make a mess of the thing if I tried to make myself one of them. Is it possible to accidentally brutally stab yourself to death with knitting needles? I would probably be the first one to do it.

SERENITYNOW

I'm the chick making Jayne hats at http://dryope.typepad.com/superfly/

I'm still making them, but the yarn (which looks just like the colors in the TV show and is a really nice virgin wool) has been discontinued, so I'm going to be limited in how many I can make. I estimate I can do 100 more, but since it takes about 2 evenings for a hat (and I enjoy life), I should be able to go until the BDM.

Email me at f3k64@yahoo.com or go by my site if you're hat-curious. They're pretty cheap--I don't make much on them. I just want the fans hatted.
:)

Oh, incidentally Hell's Kitten is amazing. I love my shirts!

But I think a better translation is "fighting imps". Just me.
