JP Aerospace , sponsor of the INDEPENDENT SPACEBORNE FORCES , a Browncoat organization , provided
technical expertise to TOSHIBA , in the making of this High Definition commercial for the Regza television .

In other words , a number of Browncoat folk had a big hand in this...

Where was Mal? Wasn't Mal supposed to sitting in that chair?

Great project. COngrats to the Browncoats that helped with it. Very innovative and a beautifully photographed advert.

"So, you've done this before?"

"Oh hell no. But it should work."

Just thought you'd like to know Mr. Black, that a Japanese company is selling "Space Beer" made from Barley grown on the space station at a reasonable fee of only $115 per six pack...

It's nice to know our great-great-great grandchildren will still be able to get shnockered while vacationing on Europa or Titan...

It's a wee bit early this morning, but- "Mudder's milk, anyone?"

Seems that the chair wasn't even really suited for sitting upon , being that it was created by a film-props specialty house , and was just fabricated from thin balsa wood , and er , lightweight fabric...

Space Beer ? Ummm, yes please !

I can see the moon-miners of Titan getting a little loaded on the local brew , but it seems to me , aren't we supposed to be prohibited from landing on Europa , or some such ?

You're right , Misty , this whole thing was a bit surreal...The really cool part is that those cameras taken aloft were the absolute world-class bleeding-edge available , and they delivered picture quality worthy of the term , 'high definition'. This set a record for the 'highest' commercial yet 'aired'...

Good to see that you are your old self , Misty , and that you're still flying with us 'brigands' !

"...When John Powell received the first email from Gray London Films, asking if he could fly a light-weight chair high above the Earth, his first reaction was
"no one is going to be sitting in the chair, right?" Correct.

Powell's second reaction: Yeah, we can do that. It sounds like a really fun mission."

John Powell runs JP Aerospace http://www.jpaerospace.com, a small aerospace company that he calls a "volunteer space program." JP personnel, coming from a variety of backgrounds and possessing a diversity of skills, volunteer a little time each week to help design, build, test and fly science experiments to very high altitudes under helium balloons.

Through their experiments, JP became very skilled at building light-weight, stable platforms that could soar 20 miles above the Earth. Of course, Powell said the hardest part was recovering the vehicle when it parachuted back to the ground.

A balloon vehicle that rises through the jetstream can easily land 100 miles or more downrange, Powell said. When "down range" is northern Nevada, it could also land miles from the nearest road. Using GPS tracking devices, radio transmitters and directional antennas, Powell and his group were able to track their balloon vehicles from launch to landing."

You may be prohibited from landing on Europa but I think from the looks of the place that Nancy Kerrigan and Scott Hamilton have already been there! Which hemisphere did I leave that Zamboni in again?

Always wanted to see Kaylee in a spacesuit...Kind of a fetish thing , I guess...
Accessorizing is fine...Kaylee , in a spacesuit , in the chair , with parasol...

I'd think , at that altitude , a parasol would be essential...As would be the spacesuit !
