Keep the Shiny side up

Still snowing here in NOVA, and I'm having fun with my Raytek Minitemp infrared thermometer with laser designator. Shining it out the window through the falling snow gives a neat beam effect as it hits the flakes. Zapping the reflective STOP sign at the head of our court is cool too. Wish it had the oomph to melt some of this stuff, as it looks like I'm gonna be shoveling 18 inches tomorrow.

Heh heh.

I got one of those in a surefire mount on my Saiga-12, it's... impressive.

Lately I've been using it on my rounds as a nightwatchman, and even got to really freak out some peeper hidin in the bushes with it, that was hi-larious.

Ironic to see it mentioned here, earlier I used it to melt the remaining snow offa my doorstep here just to see if it would do it - yep.

Bad news is they cost a pretty penny, and that battery don't last but maybe eight minutes tops, about six of it at full power - is why I have two spares.

There's also some technical and heat distribution problems, but I had some of my buddies down at the geekfarm fix those for me - if you do get one be right careful with it cause that much power comes with a price, and a few of the early units would catch fire themselves.
