What does BDM mean?

I started watching Firefly when it first came on and got the DVDs the day they came out so i feel kind of stupid not knowing what BDM stands for. I have been a member here for a few months but i haven't been around in about a month (had to move and junk).

It's not actually in the DVDs. It's a take on Zoe's line from the episode "Safe". When she and Mal show up and save River and Simon, Mal asks "What does that make us?", her response is "Big Damn Heroes, sir!". The cast and crew became our Big Damn Heroes, or BDH. From there, the Big Damn Movie as BDM isn't much of a stretch.

You're right, but I think the connection to the movie is even more direct. After Joss told the cast a year ago about the movie plan, Nathan "Cappy" Fillion posted over on the Fox boards, about the DVDs as well as:

Then when the DVDs came out in December 2003, the term "big damn movie" started being used a lot on the Fox boards, and eventually just "BDM."
