heh, and they say food is the way to a man's heart... A good cheeseburger can get the wimmens too. I hope it was as good as you were anticipating.

I had some awesome food a few moments ago myself. Something I've not had in a long time. Breadsticks. They're fantastic, a full packet disappeared in minutes.

It sucks that wee batman is still having teething troubles msa. I think I know how that feels, when my wisdom teeth started to come through in my teens I wished it was acceptable for me to have a cooling chew thing and teething ointments handy.

HUGS Navy I know I feel so bad for him. We can give him teethimg aids, but basically when pointy objects push through your gums it hurts. He just looks so pitiful gnawing his bib and whimpering. On a side note, he really loves Steven Segal Lawman. It's fast becoming his favorite thing to watch ( he likes music concerts the best)

+1 on the teething sucks!

Sorry, long day at work, not doing good with the constant phone distraction at work, hoping I'm just mega grumpy due to being stuck on a rubbish chair that is killing my back! New one on order but it's a custom build (to help cope with my 6ft 3 frame and the too low desk)

thanks for the sympathy FLT, it's a lot better now, just not always doing a good job of balancing everything and it can play havoc with my moods.

Another disaster on the OU front, not getting this whole work life balance thing right, in fairness, a good night of sleep would probably do wonders. Heading off in a mo.

The new people underneath us are pregnant and with our thin walls I have a nasty feeling that baby will be waking me up, hell, if she bottle feeds I'll go on the rota!

Anyway, John sounds an awesome man in the making, never to early to appreciate martial arts... oh hold on, we need to get him hooked on Bruce Lee, Jet Li and Jackie Chan. As for the music, get him a drum or too; might take, might not but all kids love noise if you can stand it, my nephew has the cutest mini bongos, proper drums just smaller, no relative of mine is getting toy drums!

Good news in helping sucky mood, all A Tribe Called Quest Albums up on Spotify, having a quick listen before I go to bed!

One of my favourite all time battle lines, "I break shit, you only give hairline fractures!"

*gee rocks the head nod*

Ooooooooh yes, I can vouch for the kids loving to make noise, LOTS of noise (the little cousin Dezarae likes to bang on metal pots with a large spoon. plastic won't do, they're not loud enough ><;; *covers ringing ears*) Who knows? Maybe baby John will develop an affinity for music ^_^

Glad your new chair is on order, Gee.

WE HAZ INTERNETZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *throws confetti* FINALLY!! My poor brother has been waiting for me to post something to craig's list for him for days (he would except Safari on his gf's ancient Mac won't let him). Now he can finally stop bugging me XD yay for technology lol.

I know our neighbors are glad (as am I) that we both have newborns so neither of us feels guilty when the baby's fussy 'cause the other people understand and are in the same boat. Mind you we're in hosues and it's tough to hear through those walls

Johnny is awesome and loves any kind of music. We already gave him an oatmeal tin to bang on and he likes it :)

A gallery is like a leeetle museum where things come and go, and you can often buy them.

Or at least that's been my experience.

Sometimes you can even talk to the artist about the works you're viewing. "Really, cheesecloth? What an interesting inspiration for a work entitled The Suffering of Man."

I will now have something alcoholic, warming, and on fire please.

Well trying to get to the gallery was a fail :( *lip quivers* as I got stuck in traffic and arrived in New Hampshire too late *sniffle*. BUT!!! La sold all but like TWO of the pieces they were showing, so they raised quite a bit of money (I got to see some of the photos that were displayed when I went to her mother's house, and as usual, they were awesome) so it was a rather successful event.

The other upside is I got to spend a couple of days with my brother and La ^_^ which I always love cuz I miss seein' em.

Off to dinner!!!

Are you sharing it? That makes it okay.

Because it was shared it makes it healthy you see.

Did you guys see about Alton Brown's diet? (I looove him).

He made sardine sandwiches. They had sardines and avocados. He made some marinade with the sardines. I was sort of intrigued. He lost a lot of weight and he's not some idiot celebrity so I sort of wanted to make one to see how it was. I have the episode saved but I'm not home now. I think he ate those mainly for meals and he made this yummy smoothie for breakfast.

edit: I love how both the bar thread and the imponerables have food topics.

Salty stuff is good, but I'm also kinda not fond of seeing them all whole. I don't like the idea of eating something that's looking up at me.

Just on a semi-related note... while I was researching some stuff for college I came across a wikipedia article about a type of sushi where the fish is served still alive (only just). Apparently its picked from a tank, gutted, then served still wriggling. People do weird stuff.

ok eeeeeeeeew Navy:)

Actually the work chocolate is being shared with me. One of the women in our office has an enormous jar in her shared mega cubicle filled with all kinds of chocolates... is deadly difficult to stay away from

Well fine I'll do a recipe here too

Cornmeal pancakes
1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 egg
1.5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk.

Mix all together. Heat pan with about 1/2 inch of corn oil in the bottom. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture in. Fry until golden on each side

Now here's the cool part.. the add ins

you can add
1/4 cup chopped green chilies and it's mexican
1/4 cup chopped green onions and put it in clam chowder or soups
1/4 cup raw sugar and then make some honey butter to go with it
or 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar and some ham and it's croquettes

Well at this moment it has dove dark chocolate, reses peanutbutter cups, twix, mini hersheys, milky ways, milkyway midnight, snickers, and coco drops all in miniature

the cornmeal pancakes are about double the thickness of a pita and about the diameter of a silver dollar pancake. They make great appetizers( top with just about anything ...salsa, smoked salmon and creme fraiche, guacamole, chicken salad etc...) and great meal add ons or in a stew as dumplings... they're really versatile.

Make them yourself. All you need is espresso beans, some chocolate, and the patience to do it one bean at a time.

I tend to get a little antsy and end up with a wodge of chocolate with crunchy bits inside.

Yesterday was so crap at work I was too upset to go poke people with long sticks safely, and then I was too cranky to come here. I watched Eddie Izzard and the world was a better place for a while.
I'm swilling coffee, and the agency may have a lead on a new gig for me.

I get to go deal with the cranky people (today AND tomorrow) who were not informed that their appointment was abruptly cancelled because they don't have a working number or answering machine.

I am soo sick of the BS that goes on at that place that I actually almost walked out yesterday, and did bring my stethoscope home just in case I changed my mind and didn't go in today.
