How can you ewwww the Super Bowl? 1 game. All the marbles. That's good stuff!

Plus this year is the number one NFC seed vs the number one AFC seed. Two teams at the top of their game! This has potential to be a great game. Unlike some others that just end up a blow out.

How do you feel about watching cycling? I can't stand football, but I like watching cycling...because of the scheming and misdirection...and sheer athleticism of it all.

I don't like watching most televised sports. IMO, watching sports is more about the company you're with than the actual game (except for watching Grand Prix jumpers/dressage...horse stuff. I could watch that all day).

Freelancertex thanks for the info but I got the Compaq. My good buddy Stewart is a tech head, and he did things to it to make it extra special...I'm pretty happy with it. re the leather work you asked about on another thread: I tend to use basic tools and my imagination.If you can upholster it won't be that difficult. I use Knitting needles or pens that no longer work to emboss designs on the leather. My trusty Fiskars scissors and ancient stanley knife are what I do most of my cutting with though I have got a strap cutter which helps measure and cut strips for belts and handles etc. it's a dangerous tool though as the weeny blade is very sharp and will slice right into your hand if it jumps on knotholes in the leather. I have two hole punches. One of those rotary multi sized punches, and a four pronged punch that makes stitching easier. I use two needles at a time to hand stitch (one on either end of the thread) but you can use awl. Most shoe repairers sell leather dyes, though I prefer using proper stains. I think there are websites you can look at e.g Tandy craft leather.
molding leather is easy just dampen it and mess with it. bowls make good molds as do other household objects. hope you get into it, it's easier than you'd think and quite versatile.

oh tosh!I bet you can design. I can't draw or plan my creative work to save myself. most of my creations start out as piles or mounds of stuff, and then gradually become something...I tend to design with my hands more than my head. I pick up whatever medium I'm using, and let my hands do the rest, sometimes I stand back and squint at the stuff I'm going to work with which seems to get the ideas flowing...I think my brain gets involved on some level but I can't figure out how.
I used to run a volunteer textile/jewellery making class for the community service organisation I worked for. the attendees were elderly folk, people with disabilities or psychological disorders, refugees, battered women, all sorts. they would all start off by telling me they couldn't design their own stuff or they weren't creative, and by the end of their first session they'd proved themselves wrong. some arty farties would have us believe design is an exclusive domain but phooey to them. I like to gloat about the fact that A couple of my ex students have actually beaten college trained textile designers in a few textile fairs and exhibitions, and a few have managed to earn income just by taking the basics I shared with them and adding their own edge. I would love to see some of your stuff.

Well I can like *make* stuff without patterning it first, but if I ever wanted to dress it up at all by putting some kind of design on it, I'm absolutely hopeless :P Tried doing it for a wedding headband once and I totally failed ><;;(Dun mades muhself a messenger bag though, 'cause all the ones in the stores were too bulky ><;; ) I've thought about starting to make my own clothes since they're so damned expensive elsewhere :P them clothing designers can't fool me, it doesn't cost $20 to make a shirt lol.

ugh! sewing! My mother used to make all of my clothes so I was a bit spoiled. I don't know what it's like in the States and Canada, but in Australia most of the clothes you buy these days are overpriced poorly made and in terrible synthetic fabrics. I buy most of my clothes from op-shops (goodwill type places). I don't make clothes from scratch. my mum has tried to teach me but I have zero patience for it. ironic as I can sit for hours and hours and make intricate wired jewellery or hand stitching a leather bag. My clothes sewing skills only extend themselves to changing or adding to some of my op-shop finds. (e.g adding embellishment, slashing seams and adding panels, turning skirts into dresses etc.)I admire anyone who can sew clothing. or use a sewing machine. I have one but it hates me.

The one you have might not be good/strong. I have a cheap little table top one that works okay, but I really need my great-gram's industrial monolith one if I want to do anything serious :P (btw, definitely using THAT one and not the table top one for my wedding dress ;) teehee). I used to hand sew everything, but the machine isn't really that bad; it's just threading the bobbin and needle that I hate -_- otherwise it makes normal sewing so much faster (and less painful on the fingers lol)

I envy you for being able to do wire jewelry :P
