I've always wanted a dinosaur, but there are some pretty strong circumstances that prevent that. The TRex would obviously be the prize, but I think a Dinonicus would be a bit more practical, and you could take it for walks/ride it/get it to eat people you don't like.

If we have to stick to animals that are not extinct (or maybe they didn't exist if you're into the whole creationist thing) then I'd probably pick... a monkey of some description. Not sure which exactly, but a monkey would be fun.

A dog, please. I'd just like a regular ole dog. (at least I think I would. I'm not fond of the idea of picking up poop everyday. While I'm not a 'cat person' per se, I do like that cats poop in a box.)

When I was younger I dog sat for a couple that had their dogs trained to poop and pee on newspaper in a box. It's an improvement over regular dog behavior, but you still have to clean it up immediately before your house stinks. With a cat they bury their poop. Soooooo much better.

What in the world do you keep near the litter box? That's a bio hazard zone. I get more annoyed when I have papers strewn about the floor and I pick one up to reveal kitty throw up. Thanks for burying that.

I'd love a dog. Our current apartment only allows dogs under twenty pounds, and as much as I loved my little toy poodle, I'd like to have a pet I can rough-house with (like my brother's dog). It'll have to wait for an apartment with fewer restrictions, or a house :\ Someday :)

Well, with only 500 square feet...there's not a lot of 'separate-the-biohazard' room to toy with. Box is in front of the unused back door. Kitty used the towel that was soaking up the rain water from the leaky unused back door to cover said "missed approach" droppings. The other time (yes, he's done it more than once

) he got a plastic bag that was on the floor. Sigh. Nasty.

Yes...he's a very good kitty. The best, I'd venture. He's done it a total of three times and one time I caught him right after. I was brushing my teeth, so I couldn't remedy the situation immediately and he was so confused why he couldn't cover his mess.

Thankfully, he's only puked once. *knocks on wood* Hopefully he won't feel the need to do that again.

Lucky. My kitty loves to eat things she shouldn't. I have to cut the tails off of all her toy mice or they're gone in no time...only to return a few hours later. MSA here-My sister's cat ( whom we all call Nam kitty due to her "flashbacks" ) was not right in the head and often ate really odd things like rubber bands and half a psychology textbook ( just picture the looks you get explaining how that happened)
Also she developed this delusion the my sister's frogs were simply very cold kittens and would try to warm them by tucking them under her ... you'd find this terribly startled frog covered in cat hair every time you'd go looking when one got out.

Thursday bump!

I just read the craziest news article about some kid in China flipping out cause he suspected another kid of cheating in Counter Strike, a videogame. Dude stabbed the suspected cheater in the head with a footlong knife. The knife went all the way through and the tip was coming out the other side but the cheater stayed conscious and lived through the surgery to remove it. How the heck!? The doctors still have him under surveillance cause it was a rusty knife and they're worried that some rust could have chipped off into his head.

The human body and medical science are crazy! How do they pull something like that off? Oh and the kid isn't a vegetable or anything. They said that knife went through the part of the brain that handles motor function but they don't see any impairment. Amazing!

Also I think it's clear the kid wasn't cheating. The other guy is just really bad at killing people.

I saw this in an article elsewhere and they had a pic of the xray, it was a crazy looking thing. It went right in, all the way. The tip of the knife was poking the far side of his head.

(@ Zeek) sometimes people scare me with what they will resort to doing to other people o_o .
The sustaining the knife wound with no apparent damage bit doesn't surprise me though. I can't remember what class I was in when I saw this or what TV show I was watching (saw the same incident in both cases, and this was a few years ago) but a guy got stabbed in the head with an 8-inch knife or some outrageous size like that. Saw the x-ray, it was pretty scary lookin' as the knife was serrated, but he was fine (thankfully). That is one crazy incident though, poor kid. I don't know how much rust it takes to make metal super brittle, but he's lucky the blade didn't snap off :( Hope he turns out okay without any complications.

A psychology book is pretty impressive, lol. My dog used to go crazy when paper was around, would shred it and leave it everywhere, but he never tried to take on something as big as a textbook. I cringe to think of how that would turn out >_<;;

The mental image of the fur covered frogs is hilarious, I must admit. Almost cartoonish when trying to imagine the surprise element in a frog's demeanor. *giggle*

Oz has made it into the box everyday for the last week or so. Yeah!

(and stupid question to you cat folk. What do y'all do with your box scoopings (that is assuming you don't have a dog that thinks they're little almond rocas

)? Do you flush them or trash them? If trash...do you empty them everyday? I'm trying to figure out a better system now that Ozmosis only gets to go outside from around 7:30 - 1:00. When he's out all day I don't to worry about the box much at all. (I just bought my second thing of litter...an I've had Oz for a 1.5+ years.)

I really don't get how urine is not a biohazard waste if blood is? Can't blood get into urine if a person has kidney issues? Shouldn't it be classified equally with blood then just in case?

Friday bump. Wake up all you quiet people!

So, on the radio today I heard that Austin has the biggest spenders of any city in the USA (not including rent or mortgage payments). I really can't see how that's possible. We've got a fairly low cost of living. Granted a big part of that is that houses here are cheap. I just can't imagine what we're spending the money on. We're not a location for fine dining. We're not full of shopping malls. We don't have any major sports teams. At best we have a music scene but cover to see a band isn't an extravagant expense. We also have a lot of bars. So, are we just the city with the most alcoholics or something? I'm really baffled by that report.

I doubt it is taverns. Milwaukee has neighborhoods that have taverns on ever street corner and more often two. Since a DUI has become a major offense and public intoxication is also considered serious the number of taverns has dropped. We used to have three on every corner. I suspect people are drinking at home.
