Okay, me too.

oh yeah and as for other Whedon shows...How are David Boreanaz and Marc Blucas not classic buffcake? many of my female (and some male)friends only started to tune into Buffy to score eyefuls of either of them shirtless! And Eliza Dushku is not only loved by sci-fi or Joss Whedon fans...she's the fantasy dream babe for many men (and some women) I know

Yes, but all atypical as far as Hollywood is concerned IMO.
Okay, Ms. Dushku may be closer to the norm of hotties....

In "Safe" when Book gets shot and he's laying on the ground, the blood didn't look right. Maybe they didn't mix the batch properly 'cause it looked brownish (too much chocolate syrup?), and you could see it bubbling.

When Mal's shirt was off in the BDM you could see several scars. One even looked like where Crow's blade landed in The Train Job.*

The next new crew member should wear glasses, camera reflection be damned.

*Lacks negativity.

I don't know about the blood...I once cut the top of my finger off and the blood spurted out red but looked brownish on my shirt sleeve and on the floor after 15 minutes and it was still wet. Also there have been times when certain wounds I've had have been oozing for a while and the blood seems to deepen in colour the more it's exposed to the outside world. I'm gonna have to go and watch Serenity now just to check it out and try and make sense of it.

It's true, but there's still not nearly ENOUGH scars considering what we know he's been through. As I recall there were scars from Crow's blade, Atherton's sword, and one other one I forget. No Niska scars, like from the instrument that buried itself in the front of his chest, no war scars, what gives? If they were gonna give him scars, they should have done it in the series (where he doesn't have scars), and they really should have done a lot more.

Mal's the kind of guy who when he takes his shirt off, you shouldn't be thinking "damn, pecs and abs," you should be thinking "HOW THE HELL IS HE STILL ALIVE?! o.0"

Obviously Inara has to be a stunner considering her job, and I do like that she's an exotic rather than a typical beauty.
I also like the multicultural aspects of the show...but noticed an extreme lack of people with disabilities whenever they were on different planets etc...or maybe those people were so well included in the scenes I never noticed them.

That's interesting Boris. I've never really felt the crew were particularly good looking. Morena yes. Can't argue against that one but the others...? Well I guess they aren't ordinary looking for sure but I wouldn't have said insanely good looking. (Just from my point of view you understand.)
In fact I'd have said plenty of other show are far more guilty of that than Joss' shows... LOST, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, BONES, and CHUCK to name a few.

Interesting....

Hey Somnambulist. It's interesting you don't think they're as good looking as folks on other shows. Perhaps it's because they don't have typical good looks...or maybe They are just better looking to me because of my attachment to them over the years. Weird how everyone sees faces differently. Then again I'm 40 so maybe that colours my perceptions some what. Generally when I hear friends talking about Fillion's good looks they're all in their 30's to 50's, then again I have some younger female friends in their 20's who saw Sean Maher on the mentalist and went all drooly ga ga over him...which happily gave me an opening to introduce them to Firefly and now they're all drooly gaga over Nathan Fillion. My younger male friends are totally into Summer Glau.

Indeed. I find it fascinating really. I have a few close friends whom I've known for many years and I can pretty much guess with at least four of them the kind of features they will be attracted too. One friend in particular I can see the type of personality she goes for and Nathan in Castle is one such personality.

Possibly. I'm 39 now and I think I've pretty much kept consistent throughout my years. D'you think yours have changed?

Of my female friends it's all about David Boreanaz (of the Joss world anyhoo). From my male friends all eventually succumb to the charms of Willow. Much as a man will whoot and whistle at the obvious attractions of say Inara or Cordelia when the dust settles you kinda end up going for the sweet one....

Inara's sweet, she's just also feisty, and we tend to see her when she's been provoked. And, well, it's also hard for people to look past the whoring. But that doesn't make her not sweet.

I do think my perceptions re looks have changed as I've gotten older...I find more lived in faces much more appealing. When I was younger youthful flawless looking faces seemed better looking. Now they don't appeal to me at all but. One thing that has remained consistent is that I find interesting faces and old fashioned movie star looks very appealing e.g. Adam Baldwin has been on my crush list since the 80's as have Ryan Reynolds and Joaquin Phoenix. I also think Nathan Fillion and David Boreanaz are way more attractive now than when they first started. Though I'm thinking that has a lot to do with what I understand (or think I know) about their personalities. I think I look at people less superficially now than when I was younger
