Could you please just make it stranger? Stranger. Odder. Could be weirder. More bizarre. How about uncanny?

Hey all, I've been real busy lately, so I apologize for the delays on the most recent round of Caption Tightpants.

To kind of bring folks up to speed, I've been working 3rd shift, am trying to get a full time job so I don't have to do that, am a single parent, and have returned to school to pursue a degree in Graphic Design (the long time support I've gotten from folks here has been a huge factor in this decision). I currently have a new computer, but much of my software still needs to be installed, and many of my files have yet to be transferred from the old PC (actually, if anyone can offer me ideas on how to wholesale move data w/o physically transferring hard drives, I'd appreciate it. My tiny little jump drive doesn't cut it for much of my graphic work.)

Anyway, I have every intent to keep CT going, just trying to find the time. I'll be back soon with CT 21's winner posted and CT 22 will be raring to go.

Thanks for you patience, as always!

Oh, also, it seems I all too often don't receive email notifications when people are posting on my threads. Any idea why? Are you all net ninjas, posting in silence or something?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I just recently got through classes for graphic design, just getting to the internship bit of it. Kudos to you for going after it. The support of folk here was a big factor for me, too, funny enough
When I got a new computer, I found the best transfer option was to use my iPod as disk space. Of course, that only works if you have one. Also, I have to say I really hope you got a Mac. Using Adobe isn't the same without a Mac
...I should link that reference. I think you'll enjoy it, if you're gonna be a graphic design geek.

An external hard drive is a great investment. It provides backup and simple transfer capabilities. They are relatively inexpensive with 500 GB drive available for under $100 if you look around.

I've had this same problem ever since I went from Outlook to Windows Mail. My ISP was unable to give me any clue as to why, nor were they able to solve it. If you find out a solution, please let me know! (Although I don't know how you can since I won't get any e-mail notification! )

There is an option to override the notification when you respond to posts, could people just be using that?

I usually click it myself so I don't jam up peoples inboxes. But I'll keep it on to see if you get it.

Hi, TCM!
We're here for you, panting tightly but softly in the background.

ETA sometimes people use "Reply" at the bottom of the last message in the thread rather than scrolling up to use "Reply" at the bottom of the message to which they are actually replying.
