It's just 8 & 1/4 inches long- selecting just the right pieces was essential.
I've seen, like, a 3 foot Serenity on a site that used hundreds & hundreds of pieces (ours is a mere 98 or so). Of course it was a bit more precise.
Yeah, but try to PLAY with it, ha ha ha!!!

hmmm. Well I got the old cartoons I started doing of the crew, but I must admit to being somewhat remise at finishing them off. I believe I still have Simon, Book and River to do. The others presently reside in the blue sun room or here:

I'll see what I can do in the next few weeks.

Those are some impressive cartoons. I especially like the style of the iso buildings, they have a nice level of detail without being overcrowded.
Good stuff and I wish I could draw like that (I know - practice, practice, practice). My stuff gets limited to DVD/Bluray covers, photomanipulations and converting photoshop art into vector drawings (my latest buzz).

I would love to see more of your work if you don't mind or have it hosted anywhere.

Nicely done there Sonisall. The smaller 'micro' objects can often be harder to do than the larger pieces.
If it's not too much effort would you mind doing a parts list/instructions for both Serenity's?
I understand it's probably too much work but it can't hurt to ask.

Also do you guys know about www.ldraw.org (for the lego parts library) and www.lm-software.com (for the design software)
I find this free software works together great and can be easier to chop and change designs before building it out of real pieces.

Thanks Lwaves - I hope to do more Iso buildings. There are a few newer pieces below amongst some that you would have already seen on the Flickr site. I have a showreel up on the blog and animation that shows some different stuff. See what you think. Right now I have a deal going with a stock image library so I may have to take alot of the stuff down so if you do want to have a look then now is the best time as I'm not sure how long I can keep them on the site.

And in refererence to your drawings, yes practice practice sorry to say it too, but it's true, and there is nothing wrong with honing your craft with photoshop. It all helps. I would be happy to see what you have on show too Lwaves.

I'm Lego-parts-name-challenged, for my part I just grabbed & tested pieces. If it's any help, I know the parts came from multiple helicopter & airplane Lego sets from Target, plus a Ninja Turtle one, I think.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Nice work guys! Makes me wish I had some Legos to try my own hand at making a Serenity.

You should be very proud it was really fantastic of him to do that.
Hopefully these pics will show up here. It's my first time trying pics so here goes.

If this worked you can see what I created from Sonisall's instructions. It's not perfect as there are some clashes around the main engine, parts don't line on right on the side thrusters and because a couple of parts couldn't be found within the program I had to modify the neck and cargo bay area.

Hope you like it and thanks Sonisall for all your work. It was a great help. All credit for the virtual model should go to him as he did all the hard work.

You should try

www.brickshelf.com

It's a gallery of Lego creations - occassionally with instructions.
They have some pics of life-sized lightsabers made from Lego but not much. Might give you a starting point.
