For Fantasy/non-sci-fi Fiction fans 2010 has a lot of potential (execution could be an entirely different matter). Ones that haven't been mentioned yet are: Last Battle Dreamer Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief Clash of the Titans Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Guardians of Ga'Hoole Your Highness Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader Jonah Hex Conan (supposed to be much more faithful to the books) Red Sonja (supposed to be much more faithful to the books) Valhalla Rising Others: Browncoats: Redemption (super stoked about this) Quantum Quest Legion Resident Evil: Afterlife (haven't seen 3 yet...) Quote:And NEVER go into a Roland Emmerich (2012, Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day, 10000BC) film expecting a great story.

Quote: The reason there are more of those is that generally, they do better, and they're more likely to succeed even without story, etc, so they can be churned out easier. Remakes are always popular because it's easy to rehash old stuff than come up with new and interesting ideas. Same with remakes. All the characters and stuff are set up, so it requires less effort in development and marketing. A sequel has a legion of fans already.
