Hey, I just heard that George Eads and Jorja Fox got sacked from CSI. I love the show, but think it would be way better if they hired Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite to be on it, they would be excellent in the newly vacated positions. If you agree, call CBS and tell them! The comment line is 212-975-3247. Hopefully their agents will be working on it too.

not to deprive any actor a job---but then they might not be able to do Serenity 2

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

A very good point.

Likes to mess with stuffs.

Man, this is definately a bad career move on the CSI actors' part. Shows like CSI, Law and Order, ER, NYPD, etc.. are so cookie cutter, they can replace all the actors and the series will still survive as long as the stories are good. David Caruso (currently on CSI Miami) learned the hard way.

If anyone is interested, here's a CNN article about what happened.

Quote:

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Two stars of the CBS hit television series "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" were fired for breach of contract, KCBS-TV and Variety reported Thursday.

Actors Jorja Fox and George Eads, who play investigators Sara Sidle and Nick Stokes, were fired after asking for more money to stay on the show, according to the reports.

Danica Smith, publicist for both Fox and Eads, told The Associated Press that Fox was fired Wednesday but did not have details. Smith could not confirm whether Eads was fired.

A CBS spokesman said the network had no comment.

Eads didn't show up for work Thursday, the first day of production for the next season, according to the news station and Variety, which posted a story on its Web site Thursday.

The actors were in the fifth of their seven-year contracts.

Though a search was under way for their replacements, it's unclear whether show creators will recast the characters or develop new ones, the reports said.

The show picked up four Emmy nominations Thursday, including one for best drama series.

Yeah, and David Caruso had to eat a lot of crow pie to get his career back online. At any rate, I think that Alan Tudyk and Jewel Staite both have (in general, not just on Firefly) that geeky/smart/funny/sexy/quirky high character energy that the CSI (original show, not Miami) writers and directors really like to work with. I think Jewel Staite in particular deserves a lot more airtime! Alan Tudyk's career doesn't need any help, but I just think they'd be great in CSI. Wish it was up to me!

Actually, I've already made a CSI with a character for Jewel; my original CSI: Detroit series, accessible from my website at http://home.comcast.net/~rapterred111/CSIBrandisNote.htm

SOUPCATCHER

In the spirit of the great comics cross-overs that I loved so much growing up, how about CSI:Whitefall? (suspend disbelief for a moment and pretend Grissom would know nothing about spaceships ).

"What do you think Grissom?"

"Well, we have one DOA. Gunshot wound to the head. Appears to have fallen from a height of about 6 feet. Vehicle tracks. Footprints of three different people, none of them the DOA. Horse tracks coming to and from the site. Plants flattened by strong downdraft close to the DOA. I don't know. Guess I'm just stumped."

Or, but this could be potentially boring, have the character of River inserted into the CSI team.

I like the hotties you went with... Gina and Marina tossed in for good measure. Nice.

Very true - its rare that an ensemble show cannot survive without any of the cast - and CSI has very rarely done more than dip its toes in the backstory of its characters so anyone could leap onboard. CSI is very much a concept show - even Grissom could be replaced.

Have to say I was getting rather bored of Sarah's "pursuit" of Grissom in the seasons I have seen (as is typical over here, I'm a season behind), which just didn't work for me.

Look how long it took Caruso to make it back - there must have been a number of occasions he could have been up for a job where the producers though back to NYPD:Blue.
