Joss Whedon is coming to Australia for a chat at the opera house...I found out a month ago by which time it was already sold out. damn! how does one get the inside info about these events before the general public? I'd really like to know so I can attend one sometime.
Am Hoping he'll be a guest on one of the better TV talk/quiz shows (e.g.Good News Week, 7pm report, or Talking about Your Generation")

he's coming to Melbourne as well for the Writer's Festival. They only announced it the day before it went on sale, on twitter and such, and was sold out within about 2 days. Luckily I got tickets! Can't wait!

Paul Mcdermott and Joss Whedon, that would be cool. Even better, imagine what he and Sean Micalef& Co will get up to. Congrats to anyone that got tickets...I can't wait to move to Melbourne...nothing exciting ever happens in Newcastle, unless you count the coal ship getting beached during floods a few years ago and the occasional shark attack, oh yeah and the shootings, but nothing sciencfictiony good.

Hey man! I pulled the kids from school that day and drove into Nobbys to watch the ship run aground. Big day! I was on the beach the day of the earthquake too.

Admittedly the big smokes get more in the way of events but I much prefer Newcastles population to Sydneys congested roads and hussle and bustle..

Jeez! you were game going to Nobby's that afternoon....the weather was crazy. I barely made it back to Raymond Terrace (shudder... yes that's where I actually live) from Uni before floods cut us off! I do prefer the people and pace in Newcastle to those in Sydney or Canberra, and I LOVE the beaches and the harbour (Nothing beats sitting on the wharf on a Sunday Arvo watching the coal ships coming in, eating fish and chips from Scratchleys kiosk or a Gelato from GG's, listening to music whafting over from the Brewery)If Newie would give me better access to stuff I want I'd be so damn happy and less inclined to whine...e.g. more variety and less western friendly international cuisine options, Craft shops that don't just focus on quilting, scrapbooking and beading, More fashion options rather than the same old chains, so I wouldn't ever have to go to Sydney to shop etc etc.

Sorry you missed the Big Event Boris, but you guys down under get some really good 'sciencfictiony' stuff.

The Matrix........................Joss Whedon, say didn't our BDH go there once or twice too?

sciencfictiony is a great word Boris. I tip my bonnet to you in respect.
