Important people don't do field work.

Last weekend, I got drunk. No need to mince words on that point. When I got done drinking it was 7 in the morning, so I went to the day room (For non dorm residents, that's a common room where's there's a large screen TV, in our case, and a DVD player) Put in Firefly, watched Out of Gas, and passed out...And when I say out, I mean out! When I woke up (Came to) There was someone there, watching Ariel. He turned to me and said "What the hell is this?" I slurred "Firefly" and he said "What, like a movie or something" And I smiled and said "Soon", and passed out again. When I came to again, there had to be six guys in there watching "Our Mrs. Reynolds" and yelling at the TV everytime Saffron tried to seduce someone new. I got up, watched the end of the episode, gathered it up and left amongst cries of protest. Sorry, but their mine and no one can ever have them! Frankly, I'm surprised they weren't stolen. But, I couldn't stay and let them watch. I was wearing my pinstriped Father Know's Best pajamas, and Homer Simpson slippers, and my head was killing me! But, there were six guys that now bug the hell out of me to borrow or to bring them back to let them see the show. Its a great feeling, especially since I didn't have to do nothing. I was a little surprised that they put in a new disc without taking everything I had on me.

Ah! Firefly! The show that sells itself.

Haha. This past Friday, a buddy of mine went up north about 45 minutes to visit a friend of ours who used to live in the same town as us. Of course all of my friends are firefly converts. Well my buddy max who I was driving up with wanted me to bring Firefly, so I did. We get there, get into a car accident(nobody hurt) and got a ride to our friends house where a good ol fashion shindig was happening (consuming alcohol....alot of it) On our ride there. We start talking about it, and 2 of my friend's roommates where like what the fuck is firefly? So Joe, Max and I tried to describe the best we could...which of course is..."A sci-fi with a western theme". They laughed, thought it sounded ridiculous. But we told them, that it was amazing, and they would think otherwise after they watched it. Unfortuneately, they never did get to watch it, since I had to catch a ride home that night...but next time...next time....muahaha

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

You really should consider having a viewing party for those six converts ManwithPez to further addict them. No telling what kind of mileage Firefly could get out of it if they convert others.

I would, and probably get more converts, but on the weekends, typically, the dayroom gets so disgustingly trashed by drunk people who only want to watch the latest bootleg that they picked up in downtown Songtong. There have been many times that I have tried to watch Firefly in the dayroom only to find that someone was in there watching baseball or some other shit like that. Its strange that when a group of people want to watch something like "Who's The Boss" everyone will let them. Maybe its something about me, or my inability to describe the show. It is hard to describe, and I am loathe to use the word Sci-Fi western, because that's so not what the show's about. I'll keep trying, and I'll keep Serenity Flying!
