EMangel01,

There is a thread dated today talking about a get-together on 24 July in Dayton.

Yeah... I think I read something about that. Unfortunately I can't go to that one, I have other plans, but maybe the next time... Anyway, have you seen I, Robot yet? Let me know when you do because I saw it on Friday and want to know what you think! Later!

Oh, that...

Ummm...

Heh.

Well...

I have somewhat unwisely expressed an opinion on the movie without actually watching it. Shocking, but it's true. It is in the "I saw 'I Robot' today" thread of recent vintage in the Talk Story Forum.

I said basically that the previews showed robots running amok and endangering humans, and such a thing COULD NOT happen in Asimov's world. I expressed the opinion that unless something TERRIBLY clever was done to excuse this, they should not tack Asimov's name or book title onto the story.

That said, I promised to actually watch the movie. Fair is fair, after all, and I am prepared to eat my words.

When I watch the movie.

Which I haven't.

Yet.

LOL!!! That's great! Well, I thought that it was pretty good. Granted I have not read Asimov's book yet so I can't speak with much authority on the subject. That being said. It's still pretty impressive as movies go and you may like it. The three laws were discussed heavily in the movie which was really interesting. Let me know when you do see it, 'cause now I'm really excited to hear you opinion of it!

Oh, that reminds me.

I also said that it could still be a good movie, perhaps even better than Asimov's stories...

I just thought that it probably shouldn't have been connected to Asimov.

But whatever. I think Asmiov's book sales will probably skyrocket.

Could you please just make it stranger? Stranger. Odder. Could be weirder. More bizarre. How about uncanny?

Well I just joined the yahoo! groups list for

firefly-ohio (should anyone here not be on it yet!)

So for future reference, I live on the eastside of Cincinnati, should a gathering be planned in the future.

Hey there guys! Don't know if anyone is still checking this thread, but if you are i wanted to let you know that there is a shindig being held in Cincinnati on Saturday, September 25th, 2004 at noon. So far the plans are to have this thing at Woodland Mound. You can find more information at the Yahoo Group. Andrew Lynch posted the link on this thread. Hope we'll get a good turnout.
