From a on-set report here:
http://fireflydvd.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=2455#2455

comes this teasing little quote:
" At one point I overheard a discussion about how Universal is planning on releasing an animated prequel to Serenity that will fill in the details between the end of the series and the movie. Wow, very interesting!!"
To put it mildly...

Seems animated linking stories setting up films or filling in gaps between fils and such are the thing these days, since Animatrix - both Riddick and van Helsing have done this.

If true (and assuming Joss makes it & the cast voice it) is it a good idea? Will it answer anything we need to know?
*Will it explain how the corridors are now magically a little wider*?

Let the muttering begin...

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

If it ever sees its way out to the public I would definitely buy it. Anything Firefly is a must have for me.

If the Van Helsing DVD is any indication of what Universal can do w/ an animated prequel it should be fairly good.

Anyway, I have my doubts about it being true, but I'd absolutely love it, so long as they got all the actors doing the voice work.

It's still Firefly, it helps fills in the gaps, since it's animated they can take us to areas that would be expensive in a real movie, helps fill out the universe, and most importantly, IT'S ANOTHER HOUR OR SO SET IN THE FIREFLY UNIVERSE. ;)

I'd buy it.
