the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Mary Parent, who greenlit Serenity with Joss Whedon writing & directing, and who was still enthusiastic about the movie after she'd left Universal, has now left MGM (which has been in financial trouble for some time, & may be bankrupt)
