Here's the old thread
http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=2&t=45274

And to explain the title.... there may not be enough whiskey in the world for me to make it through this next few weeks...

MsA: Sorry to hear that the next few weeks are going to be of teh insane...
We could always ease the issue by going from Irish Whisky to Canadian, followed by good Japanese (yeah, it sounds weird, but gorramit the Suntory whisky is awesome), then Kentucky Whiskey, followed by Scotch....then maybe margaritas until the need goes down?

LOL @Kel....'swhat you get for streaking through the bar so often.
Hrm... "Kelkhil will arrive in the bar with appropriate clothing for the waist and below(shorts, pants, jeans, etc. *) and keep it on for the duration of his stay in or around the bar-and-grill to be monitored randomly at least 3 times a day for a four-week period. If Kelkhil is found wearing inappropriate clothing (speedos, underwear only, etc.) or not wearing any clothing covering waist and below, Kelkhil will be required to wear a covering assigned by the person monitoring Kelkhil."

(and Kel, I'm quite sure that wearing a lovely floral 2-yard piece of fabric as a lavalava or "skirt" will be quite fetching 'round your waist if you decide to streak here again...)

*...and yes, that means you need to wear shoes -- can't have the glassware landing on your feet...

Hugs Rose...oh just wait.. more paperwork and inanities to come. That's the joy of college. Random people in charge tell you to do one thing, then someone else tells you something different and by the time you've collected all teh stories/ requirements/crap you're not even sure you have to take classes let alone which classes to take

Ooh awesome goal Neko...giggle. HUGS

Basically I just need my students to stop getting in trouble for long enough to get my paperwork done:)

Waivers to take undergrad courses, for subjects you haven't studied, because you're considered a Graduate student even though you're not pursuing a graduate degree? Yep, did that all this summer. Then I matriculated as an undergrad and nobody batted an eye. Weird.

MsA: You, my dear, are an optimist. Don't you know students are an administrative conspiracy tactic to keep you from getting the required paperwork done so they don't have to give you a raise for meeting or exceeding expectations?

Kel, I have a lovely selection of aprons.

Okay, I have a midterm tomorrow in physics. I will not whimper audibly at this point. Doctroid was yanked out of town for a week unexpectedly so my underutilized tutor is gone.

I also have a paid gig for a flu clinic tomorrow between my first class and the exam. Two hours of cashy-money is two hours of cashy-money, and the first I've brought in since May sometime. Not gonna bitch.

I will be happy when the semester's over. I'm loving being back at school, but I'm getting a little tired of having so much to do in so little time. (whine whine whine)

The good news is that I've got the nod from administration to teach a course next semester. Yay me!

HUGS Rosie YAY for the cashy money...but what is this "raise" you speak of. Teachers in my state haven't been given a raise in 5 years. Also since I came from Utah we weren't given a raise for the last 7 years before that so I don't know as I have ever been given a raise. You move up a bit for years experience, but a COLA or anything like that is out of the question. Usually happens about once a decade or so. At least starting salary is better in NV. In Utah it's $21,350 here it's $28,975 so I guess that's kinda like a raise

Kel- whooo speedy week. Here's hoping a weekend of longish proportions BTW nice um coat??

(That IS being optimistic for those who were about to tell me to not be negative, I'll be surprised if I get credit for 1/4 of each question. But thanks.)

Well sort of generically worth it, but in terms of preparing you for a career it only really seems to do that if it's a career that requires that specific degree.
I'm all for higher education ( have more than a few degrees myself) but I have to say in the job market it doesn't appear that one degree has a higher value than another unless it's for a specific job.

Graduate school is a whole other ball of (ear)wax from what I've heard.

The debate's tomorrow. I hope I'm not the most prepared person at the meeting today.

I need to take ibuprofen and do gentle stretching, but my shoulder/arm/hand will get better with time.. no MRI or X-ray required. (Yay!)

I'm probably dropping physics tomorrow. I got a 50 on the midterm and even with a very generous curve it's highly unlikely I'll be able to pull at least a C out of it. I'm going to take precalc and calculus before I try again. (It wouldn't hurt to review the algebra/geometry/trigonometry I haven't used in over 2 decades either...)
I hate admitting defeat, but I have to protect my GPA. It's a strategic retreat.

Doctroid's back from Virginia, safe and sound!

...aaaaand now something's crawling around in the walls. Ew.

I've never failed a college course before, it could prove interesting. I also might be able to salvage a C out of it if I give up sleep for the next six weeks.

We're doing an appeal ourselves in a desperate attempt to get the USDA to see reason and acknowledge that a crawl space is not the first floor of a house... so we can get the loan and close on our house. Otherwise it's borrowing money from the parents. Which sucks
