I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are killing off Johnny Storm. I realize that the comics are not necessarily dictated by the films, but why would Chris Evans take the role as Captain America if he was going to reprise his role as the Human Torch? Eventually both characters will be on screen, as the FF are part of The Avengers.

Just my guess based on his business decisions.
