The lovely Anne Francis has died from complications related to pancreatic cancer. She was 80 years old. It seems almost poetical that she died less than one month after Leslie Neilsen's passing, as they were together as a couple in 1956's Forbidden Planet.

Anne Francis also starred in two classic original Twiight Zone episodes, one as the cognizant mannequin Marsha, and one as Jess-Belle, a man-stealing country gal who makes an un-holy deal with the devil. Other notable appearances were in the movies Operation Petticoat, The Blackboard Jungle, Bad Day At Black Rock, and Don't Go Near The Water. TV credits include the lead in the 60's Honey West, and Disney's Gallagher.

Anne Francis was certainly one of my earliest favorite females in sci fi. As a small tribute to her I watched Forbidden Planet last night. Her radiant beauty has rarely been equalled on screen.

I cannot say I remember much of "Honey West" when I was 5, but I do know that her blonde hair, parted down the side forever influenced by taste in female appearance.

in tender morning
taste shaped by a sweetened breeze
sad farewell Honey

See how I'm not hitting him, I think I've grown!

I was 12 and never saw the show. My family had one b&w tv, and my parents decided what we would watch. There were no remotes back then.

They just started broadcasting episodes of Honey West on the ME network after New Year's Eve. I don't remember this show. I guess, like you Jongsstraw, my parents choose some other program over it to watch. If I stay up late I can see them now.

I do have Forbidden Planet on DVD as part of my small collection of science fiction films.

It was just this past year that I watched Forbidden Planet for the first time in Widescreen.
