BROWNCOAT THEATRE KICKSTARTER LINK: http://kck.st/fbwoxG

The Browncoat Pub & Theatre (111 Grace St; Wilmington, NC) is entering into its fourth year of business. It's been a great ride so far and we aim to keep flying for many more to come. Thanks to the support of some loyal Browncoats and alot of other good folks in our home area, we're poised to do some big things in 2011 that will help alot of worthy people reach their dreams. Please take a moment to read the following few words, follow the link and, if you're able, make a contribution to support our efforts. It doesn't matter how much, every little bit helps us along the way.

Attached is a link to our Kickstarter fundraising project. As you know, we are a non-profit theatre organization dedicated to supporting the works of emerging artists. In a nut shell, we seek out struggling new playwrights and provide them with everything they need to have their plays produced. After that, we offer them assistance in the publishing process. This year, we've decided to partner with Kickstarter to raise the money needed to do this better and more often.

Kickstarter is a fundraising vehicle for non profit arts organizations that allows people to pledge donations to help fund specific arts related projects. To become a backer, all you have to do is follow the attached link, click on the green "Back this Project" button, and enter your pledge. If we meet our goal, your credit card will be charged. If we don't, it won't. It's really that simple.

As our first ever Kickstarter program, we are honored to associate ourselves with the estate of the great American playwright Leonard Melfi. After observing us and our work for several years, Leonard's brother John (now executor of Leonard's estate) decided that we were the right organization to premiere three of Leonard Melfi's undiscovered and unpublished works. John believes that we embody the spirit his brother and so many others from the American experimental theatre movement pursued as they brought great new art into the world. We need your help to live up to these lofty expectations.

Should you choose to support us, your contribution will help fund the world premiere production of Leonard Melfi's "The Son of Redhead". The Melfi estate has reached an agreement with Samuel French guaranteeing that this play will be published and our production will be forever listed as the world premiere. Your contribution will help create six to eight new jobs in the theatre industry. It will also pay for set construction, costuming, properties and other necessities directly related to the production of this never before seen play. Should you choose to support us we will print your name in a special thanks section of the playbill. Depending on the size of your contribution, we also offer other rewards as our thanks to you.

Thank you so much for your time and support!
