I'm mentally girding my loins to discuss safe(r) sex, STDs, and birth control tonight. Less than two hours from now my class and I are officially stuck with each other on Valentine's Day until 9pm. (Hey, I could be out on a date too you know...)

Condoms. We will amuse ourselves with condoms. I have a new thermos which should prove useful for illustrating a point.

Somebody put a gigundus "Midnight Special" martini in stasis for me... I'm gonna need it.

Just shoot me NOW

That rant was related to my classroom not Valentines

BTW Valentines is a disturbing and inappropriate holiday that ties the measure of love a person has to you to the cost and volume of gifts they purchase. I refuse to celebrate it. I'd prefer my husband love me 365 day a year and I don't need gifts to prove it. He proves it every day by being an awesome caring father and a loving supportive husband

Hey all,

sorry to hear that you're having class room woes MsA but shoot you? My crappy days (and boy was today one) just leave me the urge to massacre colleagues.

I co-sign the Valentine's day comments MsA, I'd say more but you covered more eloquently so just need to point out that other half would be upset if I called her my husband.

Look on the bright side those outside the uk, at least your government is not cutting services and telling us we should be volunteering whilst the moneyed privilege that they are and represent sit pretty.

(Keeps hers down.)

Ick.

The latest FF Castle reference left me a little flat. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy it's there at all.. but it wasn't subtle in the slightest.

They kept the camera on Nathan just long enough that you were wondering if he was going be able to keep a straight face or lose it completely.

Plus: cliffhanger. Bleah.

Also I love his argh face when he was about to get serious with Beckett just as they cleared him.

Still sick..hate bronchitis. Am waiting and hoping it won't go wrong and go to pneumonia, but let's face it what are the odds of that?

I hope you get to feeling better soon, MSA. Bronchitis isn't any fun, and it lasts way too long.

I liked this week's Castle ep. I like the episodes that they play more seriously. There's more character development in them.

I was watching "The Invention of Lying" tonight. Becket's captain played the landlord in it, and Justin Bateman was in it too. It was sort of like having a bottle of "Nathan Lite" there for a moment.

Honestly, I don't understand the people who can't tell them apart. They look completely different to me.

(Shuffling in. Sliding a plate of warm chocolate chips cookies down the bar...)

It was a sweet movie. I liked it.

I visited a house in SV today that our PE teacher wants me to rent with her part time next year. She lives there full time and I would rent a room a couple of days a week so that I don't have to commute so much.

It's an old double-wide trailor set back in some trees on a hundred acres of nothing. Sweet! The views are spectacular, and it's on the California side of the valley, so there aren't many neighbors.

If our jobs aren't cut next year....

Speaking of which, I got my diploma in the mail on Friday! Yea! It looks much better than the one that I thought was my diploma that they sent in January (it was an ugly bit of "meh" when I saw it - I couldn't believe that that was what I worked for - could have printed it out myself on my printer).

The real one is worth framing.

I am now an officially trained, professional librarian. I could probably even catalog all of the crap that Badger has in his office. Or weed a couple of Fox executives.

That. Sucks.

Just one more day containing a big quiz, a lab, and a big exam.. then it's Spring Break and I'll have plenty of time to study and finish my chem and math labs!

Last week's CVA quiz garnered 49/50 and a sticker. Best score yet in that class.
Boychild cheered and hugged me.

Doctroid hung it on the fridge.

I need a break. I really really need a break.

I will be doing all five weeks of field experience the first half of the summer. (You won't be hearing much from me during that time.)
I need to see about taking Calc 1 the second half of the summer.
When I get back from the Adirondacks I will be smartified, able to conduct independent field research, and know how to build a wigwam among other useful things. (Field Ethnobotany.. gotta love it! Dyes and sh..tuff from the wild!)

I hope so. We'll just have to wait and see. It's 8-12 hours of field work and analysis every day, sometimes more.

Last class finished. Spring break has begun.
I graded the quizzes and the essays. (Beer improves the writing of others.) Now I just have to plug in the grades and get cracking on all the other sh...tuff I have to do this week.

Okey dokey, that was not so much fun.

House hunting began yesterday. We hit three open houses, decided not to bother with a fourth, and then went to see two more places with our agent. The first one was not so bad. The second one's owners need to be smacked. Hard. Big old house, could be great with a LOT of work and money. They let the roof go and go until there was water leaking down interior walls and there's mold growing in the ceilings. THEN they had the balls to ask what they're asking for the place. The pool's about trashed, the deck's in need of repair, the garage roof's in about the same shape, and they did something stupid with wood in a damp basement. The lot's nice, the locations' not bad, and if they'd just taken care of the place we wouldn't be able to afford it it would be so nice. It's not just needing a new roof, there's no telling what's growing where. Stupid jerks. They didn't deserve to have such a nice big old place and now unless somebody saves it nobody else can use it either.
(grrrrrrr)

So yeah, tomorrow and Thursday are seven places each day, plus a few more Wed or Fri. They apparently couldn't get anything lined up for today. The nerve, having other clients and stuff!

I need more vacation in my vacation.
