There's a D*C hotel community over at LiveJournal that should go active pretty soon. You might try the Westin as it's literally across the street from the Marriott and it was the base for the Whedon and Steampunk track.

Oooh good though.. if it's just across the street that'd be ok. I just need convenient because Johnny still has a naptime and we have to go back and forth

Actually the Westin is almost across (maybe down 2 buildings) from the Marta entrance and food court. It's also an official host hotel.

Wow, Zeek did you see the latest episode of HIMYM?

Why yes Zeek I actually did.

They brought the house back into the story. It's like they're reading your mind.

Hmmmmmm... Weren't they supposed to have Robin and Lily have a whole episode of topless mud wrestling? What the heck is going on with that?

Apparently you need to fine tune your targeting... I would appreciate it if you could ensure Marshall remains fully clothed at all times

Also.... I think they should be more realistic with how teaching kindergarten really is..work on that :)

I'll stick with topless mud wrestling thanks.

On a side note I just got out of the most ridiculous meeting ever. I'm actually kinda fired up about it. So, they found our area of the company has the lowest morale. So, they are scheduling round table meetings with some of the upper management to listen to us. So, our manager had this meeting to "coach" us on what to say. She basically said not to say anything negative or we would be risking our own jobs. "You will say you're happy or you will be fired!" Instant morale solution. It's nuts!

Ok that is simultaneously hilarious and disturbing
Seriously... we want to improve morale by listening to you, but you better not say anything we don't like?????

I talked to my office mate about it. He thinks that what she was trying to say without saying it was that the upper management is playing lip service to morale and doesn't give a rats ass. So, don't say anything in the meeting to draw negative attention to yourself.

The whole thing is so very ridiculous.

So, I'm going a little batty here. How would you guys handle this situation. This weekend a friend of mine is getting married. I invited a college friend of hers to be my guest to the wedding (cause I totally have a crush on her ). So, I offered for her to stay at my place if she wants. She replied on the 2nd that she'd gotten her plane tickets, but wasn't sure where she was going to stay yet. She said she had some family friends in town that she might stay with. The issue with my place is she's allergic to cats. So, she's pretty much have to be hopped up on allergy meds if she stayed with me.

Anyway haven't gotten a single word out of her since. The wedding is this Sunday! I haven't been able to get her flight schedule. I still don't even know her phone number. I've got no idea what's going on. I'm a planner. I like to have everything figured out in my head well in advance if I can. This is starting to drive me nuts. Not to mention I have a job interview tomorrow and I've got an annoying jury duty summons hanging over my head that I have to call in about every week.

I messaged her on Saturday with no response. I assume at this point I just have to sit and wait. That crush is sure taking a hit over this. Though I'll feel bad if I find out something bad like a death in the family happened or something.

Argh! Zeek stressed!

OK breathe sweety..some of us are not planners and don't realize that others need to know the details. I'm sure she thinks that by telling you she's going she assumes all is set. It's still a week away.
I'd check in with her round Wed-Thurs and ask if she's sorted out travel and room situation :)

Seriously? Thursday? She might be hopping on a plane Friday for all I know. I mean for the most part it's just shooting herself in the foot. I run a bachelor pad not a hotel. Any creature comforts require advanced notice. The later the request comes in the less likely it is to be fulfilled. Still as a host I feel some responsibility to make a guest's stay pleasant. *breaths into paper bag* (what is that supposed to do for you anyway? I think it's just a tv myth)

Pssh well she finally responded last night. So, at least I know the days she'll be in town and that she'll be staying with me. What an easy way to get a girl into your bed. I must remember this for the future.

Job interview seemed ok. We'll see if I get rejected by tomorrow morning. They said that's when they'll meet up to discuss.
