Quote:And I need to throw out one more thanks…to the Firefly fans!!! Fandom Month was a fun and nice move for us, but its success didn’t truly kick in until the fans of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” (the cancelled TV show that’s going to be a major motion picture called “Serenity” this spring) came on board in the final week of the event. Once the “Browncoats” got word there was a Firefly strip online at a comic site that’s backing the Serenity cause, they were all over it. Many of them came from the flyers we passed out at the Serenity panel on the final day of the Con, some came from links off of message boards. But MAN, did they come. And they shared. I’ve spent each update night of Fandom Month posting on the appropriate boards (Star Wars, Star Trek) to try and get some traffic in. For Firefly, I didn’t have to do a thing. Before Sunday had even ended, our site was linked up on all the major Firefly boards. Sweet!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.
Quote:Originally posted by niceguywriter: Thanks, Lerxst...and all you Browncoats (of which I am one, thank you very much!)! As you saw in the newsletter, we are WAY happy but not the least bit surprised the Firefly fans came through for us. I wasn't kidding in the newsletter. Star Wars fans? Trekkies? NADA compared to Firefly fan reaction. Never had a doubt.
Quote:The Con was amazing...and the highlight was the Serenity panel, of course! I don't know if anyone there noticed, but Adam was looking at something and passing it along to the other actors to check out. That was our Nice Guy Firefly flyer that we made up to hand out at the panel (if you were in the autograph line, you probably got one). One of my buddies there went up before the panel started and tossed a stack of them up on the table. I don't know if Adam took one with him, but I hope so (at least he fanned himself with one later in the panel). I'd love to get some of the cast (and Joss) to check out our "Serenity Now!" strip. Hey, Adam! If you're reading...check it out and pass the word!
Quote:Just wanted to pop on here and say thanks again to all my fellow FF fans. Hope a few of you end up Nice Guy fans, too! We just updated the site, FYI, with a new strip, my Con report wrap-up, and over 100 photos from the Con, including Serenity panel pics. Got to get back to work! A Nice Guy's job is never done! Keep flying, y'all. Michael O'Connell Writer/Co-Creator, "The Nice Guy" http://www.theniceguycomic.com
