I came home from work on Friday and discovered that Skye (aka Devil Dog) ate 1/2 of my Browncoat Ball invitation.

I guess this means I only get to go to 1/2 of the events.

Real lucky. I didn't dare get near her lest I touch her in violence.
This is...
One day after she got her fangs on my sunglasses and ate them.
Two days after she ate the scoop used to scoop out cat and dog food.
Three days after she ate a pair of gold high-heeled sandals.

Everything will come out in the end...unless Skye is unlike beagles with their smallish droppings. Patience, patience, and you might want to try leaving the TV or radio on so the dog doesn't get separation anxiety. Or, the devil dog thing may be the problem too.

May I suggest a kong for the devil dog? Sold at pet stores, these rubber toys have holes for treats and small bones. Stuff it up, leave a radio on and hopefully the furry one will leave your stuff alone! No, I don't work for the kong people, I just think they are really good dog toys!

Miss Skye is a shetland sheepdog of extremely high intelligence -- the downside of that is, she gets bored. My lovely husband was gone for a month and I was at work for 10+ hours every day. My girl was bored and took it out on my house.

She has three kitties and one dog brother for playing. She has a red wagon with 3 tennis balls, a tennis ball on a tether, 2 kongs, 1 rope bone, Stripey the Zebra, Grippo the Hippo, 1 knobbly ball and several other toys that I can't remember right now.

She ripped papers, magazines and cardboard out of the recycling every day and left 4" of shreds all over the living room floor.

She dragged throw rugs, cushions and blankets from room to room.

She ripped the sheers down from the livingroom window and covered the glass with nose prints to a height of 4 foot.

Thank the universe that David is home again and Skye has more companionship and outside time.

Wow, she has plenty of toys!

I don't know if this is true of dogs, but I know it is true of cats....

Cats get very bored with toys that are available to them all the time, so it is a good idea to let them have one or two toys for a coupla days, then put those away and bring out some different ones.... then put them away, bring out some others, etc.

Just a thought....

Ahh....dogs! I'm sure you'll look back and laugh about this. Your house sounds like mine, dog toys as far as the eye can see! My first dog was a wild child too. He chewed up:

His plastic alarm clock

His wicker basket

My books from my year abroad

My mom's screen door and garden hose

A feather duster and a loaf of french bread

That's just a small sample, he did get better with time, so hang in there. The smart ones are always a challenge.

Good idea. I do an interesting little dance through the house as I avoid and/or kick her toys in the general direction of her radio flyer wagon.

She'll pull every toy out and leave them everywhere. I pick them up and return them, as I'm going to get another, she's removing more toys.

Bratty dog. Good thing she's Reeeeeeleeeee cute.
