... has a diminished role due to other scheduling committments? I'd heard about this quite a bit, but was wondering if anyone knows which cast member it actually is?

OUTSIDER

The general consensus seems to be that it's Alan Tudyk who has the diminished role. Certainly he seems to be the busiest one of the gang - well, that we've heard about, anyway.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I agree w/ Outsider. Looking at Alan's filming schedules it appears he is the one that is the least available for more screen time. According to Jewel they wrap on the 27th or 28th of this month, but IMDB has Alan starting to film "Into the West" on the 16th (today).

it seems to be Alan but I want to say thank you (whoever and everyone) because it would not be the same without the real cast.

Could well be the case that Alan's shooting schedule is the shorter, but I would guess most of his stuff would be shipbound anyway - Wash always was Mr Back at Base, and IIRC there was mention that the last few weeks were action stuff.

All I know is that if I were at a con and lucky enough to be tapped during a Q&A segment, my question would be "Why are you here?! Get back to the set, right now!"
