Yep, you're reading right. If you live in Toronto (Canada) you can get the Firefly box set at HMV for...

ZOE: Now we have a boatful of citizens right on top of our... stolen cargo. That's a fun mix.
MAL: Ain't no way in the 'verse they could find that compartment, even--Even if they were lookin' for it.
ZOE: Why not?
MAL: 'Cause... ?
ZOE: Oh yeah, this is gonna go great.
MAL: If anyone gets nosy, just, you know...shoot 'em.
ZOE: Shoot 'em?
MAL: Politely.

That considerably undercuts the 50 per cent off prices at Chapters online: Firefly at $34.99 Cdn. and other SF and F season one sets, e.g. Angel, Buffy, Dark Angel and Futurama etc. Sounds like retailers got a deal from the distributor. Don't know what it all means, except they'll sell more Whedonverse sets. I call that a win.

the movie is not the Series. Only the facts have been changed, to irritate the innocent; the names of the actors and characters remain the same

Oh well, I'll try to remember to buy another set or two up there, to bring back.

Can anyone pick me up a set? I need a loaner. I'm in the USA and can pay by paypal, or US PO money order.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Am I doing my math right? Does $22.99 in Canadian dollars equal $17.58 in U.S. dollars?

ZaftigZoe, you might want to pick up an extra set at that price to use as a loaner set for converting new fans.

Wow, I wish I lived in Canada so I could pick about a half dozen copies of the DVD set for gifts.

Yonge and Dundas.

And be aware, that's $22.99 before the taxes(7%GST and 8%PST) -- still it is at a bargain rate.
