Does anyone know how a body could go about finding out how many copies of Firefly have been sold to date? I find myself powerful curious about that fairly often.

And thank tien for the dvd. This show would never have seen the light again if we were still 100% vhs, I tell you what.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Last official word was from Chris B over at the OB, but that was months ago. The figure was a nice round 200,000 copies. It obviously surpassed the projected sales figure as Fox had to have another run of DVDs done up.

I wish that The Powers That Be would post up something showing the sales figure for the DVD set. It would be powerful encouraging to know how well the DVD is selling.

I work for the #2 dot-com retailer in the U.S., and since the show's release on Dec. 9, 2003, we've sold approximately 1,154 copies of the set. And I often check to see how it's doing; we generally sell between 6 to 10 sets every week, even now.

Can you reveal the retailer? And what's important is how do the sales of Firefly compare to other dvds? (TV DVDs released around the same time are probably the best comparison)

Yes, I could tell you, but I'm all about the worrying over Big Brother-like eyes and such here at work, and then I'd have to kill you. And as it turns out, the figures for when the set came out aren't available. I'm not sure which other sets came out around the same time.

ETA: Come to think of it, the info I can find only goes back less than 6 months. So that number I quoted is probably wrong. Hmmm.
