They mix regular old resin with up to 30% crushed limestone and make castings out of it. This extends the volume of the more-expensive resin component, lowers the exo-therm, (so the molds last longer) and decreases shrinkage a bit. The drawback is that it makes the castings very brittle and generally, they will shatter like glass if dropped. The resin they use in China is inferior to many of the materials we use here in the States.
