This thread header is a real downer and given that no one here really agreed with the original poster anyway, isn't there some way we can get rid of it? I'm not a fan of censorship, so maybe the people arguing about weapon realism or whatever on that thread can start another and not post to it.... how bout it?

Likes to mess with stuffs.

Sounds good to me. Perhaps I should ask a "peel" feature so that diverging discussions can be peeled off into new threads.

Sounds like a worthwhile idea to me. I must admit many of us drifted far, far off the original lane of discussion in that thread... :rolls eyes: :-)

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

Just post a note for the weapons people to go to that long running weapons thread. It's in danger of losing the longest thread adward :)

But seriously, when the third longest thread on the site is titled "Why Firefly deserved to die" that's kind of sad.

Well if you take out all the double posts it isn't so long. (people should consider utilising the edit function Haken has so generously supplied in paring them down)

Also I am a little confused about the sensitivity to this issue...who are we trying to impress? Slashdotters? Joss? Actors?

I mean this is a fan site not cureing cancer. Why be so concerned with thread names?

Note: My opinions in regard to posts, thread names, content, are in no way intended toward the technical design and implementaion of the site...the talent Haken displays with creating and maintaining it speaks for itself.

Well, I was out of town for a week with no internet access. I come back and the first post I see says "Why Firefly Deserved to Die" and I freak out. My worst fears had come true. I'm gone for a week and the show gets cancelled, and it's over, and what am I going to do now, and not Mal and Inara will NEVER hook up and I never find out what's up with the Blue Sun, and I'm going to cry now, and what the @%!#$^$!!, it's just some stupid troll that doesn't know what the @#$^@# he's talking about????

So, yeah, thread names mean alot.

LOL! I had to put in 6 or 7 smilies, as I was completely freaked to find I had posted so many times. Eep!

I urge the rest of you to do so. Reading through the same post 5 or 6 times is tiresome, but much easier once the duplicates are edited.

Hey, Haken, just curious as a result of the thread in question: Do you have an "Edit Title" function?

And I agree with SergeantX -- it's just a real downer reading that title even though we know the truth about the show (that it's not dead and it doesn't deserve to die). As he/she says, maybe the people still having a discussion there could start a new thread with a better title, and just leave a post at the end of the end of the old thread containing a link to the new one?

*grin* Well, there's a pleasant prophecy.... It certainly would be a fantastic (Saturnalia, Christmas, Yule, whatever...) present for all of us loyal watchers.
