Mornin' Mr. Black!

Missed you around these parts I have...

The guy did well, for coming from Gary, Indiana.
The picture kinda makes him look like Yoda!

Missed you too, Mist-y / Wish-I. I also thought the R. McQ photo totally made him look like Yoda. If I'd had that kind of resemblance, I would've exploited it and had a bit of fun with some green body-paint. LOL.

I'm becoming mellower and more refined, if I do say so myself. My Quantum-Connected soul-kin-der has a powerful influence on me...I'm outmatched by her Force-adeptness...were it not for my relatively vast-y experience, and the treachery that comes from being this old, she'd totally be killing me with her brain...fortunately, the Force-link runs both ways...I'm not totally weak-minded. LOL. I often anticipate (suggest ?) her actions, so she's not the only one with Jedi-mindtricks. But, as Kipling would insist, " the female of the species is more deadly than the male."

Fortunately, (for me) she's away at school most of the time. Brilliant as a supernova.

I actually had just an inkling of the meaning of Serenity before this LittleAlbatross
came to my corner of the 'Verse. Brought quite the sea change, this baobei did.

Well, I'm glad things be well with you and yours... I've learned I don't ALWAYS have to say everything I think but I'm still as bored as ever... and things happen....

I'm trying to incite folk to do something fabulous for the tenth 'Versary, but I think lots of people are in a state of holding pattern 'till Castle gets over *sigh. And some people are gonna get their Browncoats revoked, 'cause they've given up completely See, things just...slip out...

Never a pitchfork and a riot-ready crowd around when ya really NEED one

EDIT: just caught your other post, now I'm really curious....

OPPYH

From one of his close friends George Lucas:

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of such a visionary artist and such a humble man. Ralph McQuarrie was the first person I hired to help me envision Star Wars. His genial contribution, in the form of unequaled production paintings, propelled and inspired all of the cast and crew of the original Star Wars trilogy. When words could not convey my ideas, I could always point to one of Ralph’s fabulous illustrations and say, ‘Do it like this.’

Beyond the movies, his artwork has inspired at least two generations of younger artists—all of whom learned through Ralph that movies are designed. Like me, they were thrilled by his keen eye and creative imagination, which always brought concepts to their most ideal plateau. In many ways, he was a generous father to a conceptual art revolution that was born of his artwork, and which seized the imaginations of thousands and propelled them into the film industry. In that way, we will all be benefiting from his oeuvre for generations to come. Beyond that, I will always remember him as a kind and patient, and wonderfully talented, friend and collaborator."

=============================================================================================================
I always loved the look of his artwork. Just seeing it took me away to the Star Wars galaxy, and sometimes made me dream about it in ways the films couldn't possibly do.
I am very saddened by this.

ANONYMOUSE

I've only just seen this. What a loss; he was a superb conceptual artist. Star Wars would never have looked as good as it did without him.

STORYMARK

This man is personally responsible for forming much of my psyche. Rest in Peace, Ralph.
